'Uddersfelt versus MIGHTY CLARETS

Post by IanMcL » Wed Jan 02, 2019 6:47 pm

New Year and new test for our heroes. Always a tight match across the border, although 3 points are on offer tonight.

Madge is fired up and looking forward to the contest. She summons us all to get behind the lads.

Come on you Clarets

Evening, All, from the chilly hills.

Roses battle of The Non-Penalty Kings! (They've not had one this season either)
Three points, please, to aid our upward climb to mid table obscurity...I mean safety. :)

COME ON UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU CLARETS!!

Nixon is on Radio Lancs, just said he doesn't think we can afford Jay who is on 75k a week and WBA still want 20M. He said we are looking abroad at loans, or loans to buy if we stop up.

Evening all! I'm actually feeling a bit more confident today (wasn't at all confident that we'd get a result versus West Ham following the Everton shambles). However, Heaton coming back into the fray and that win might just give us the confidence we need to kick on. I just hope we can get at Huddersfield today because we're certainly capable of winning this one. UTC.

What baffles me, is that he picks Gibson ahead of Long in the latest 3 man at the back incarnation, where he played well, but then puts Long ahead of Gibson on the bench. Is he injured? Very strange. Not that Long deserves to be dropped mind you...

Feel sorry for Gibson not making the bench but we don't need two CB's on the bench.

Heaton is club captain. Just not updated the team graphic, I expect.

They also tweeted, "Captain @TomHeatonGK also on pre-match duties" - along with a photo of him being interviewed. So that suggests Heaton is actually the captain today.

Certainly hope so. Mee looked a lot better without the weight of the captaincy. Whether that was coincidence or not.

After reading Tom's article in the Daily Mail in which he said

'Since I've been given the nod I've been buzzing — singing and dancing while doing the dishes,'

I Just hope he turns up with his keeper gloves and not his marigolds :)
