Re: Brady
definitely stupid but not a red card.
one of those you see every game when someone breaks and gets stopped by a cynical tackle. compare it with the one by shelvey on pogba tonight and its hardly a foul.

Absolutely. Rather risk the red than risk the goal.piston broke wrote:but necessary.
There have been too many occasions where we couldve took one for the team and the opposition score. Obvious one was Martial last season.

Re: Brady
Why didn’t he just trip him?
Stupid tackle and deserved the red.
Stupid tackle and deserved the red.
Re: Brady
There have been many occasions (for us and other teams) when a team breaks and scores then fans/pundits question why the opposition didn’t attempt a ‘professional foul’. This COULD have been one of those times. Of course, without hindsight you never know.Richardsbfc wrote:How?

watched it at the time and seen plenty of replays.
its cynical but the vast majority of times thats a yellow card.
Re: Brady
Be interesting to see if Sean asks for it to be removed...
Can see why it was given but it wasn't a Straight red for me just a yellow. The reactions by some players after warranted cards also....
A slap on the wrist though for Brady not being the Messiah .... just being a very Naughty Boy

3 attackers
Not a great deal of danger.

There was certainly defending cover.

Ok Captain Hindsight, so we have never conceded a goal when we have had defensive numerical advantage? Never conceded a goal from distance?
We won. Yes it was a rash tackle and he was probably foolish to make one in such manner. But we won. Get over it.

No danger and covering defenders 30+ yard from goal.

The ref was card happy tonight and issuing many cards for no reason, no way was Brady's a red card

Re: Brady
Red or not it was a mindless decision by him to bring the guy down in that manner.
Just clip his heels.
McNeil’s shirt for the foreseeable.

Re: Brady
How can it be a necessary foul to make? Bizarre comments here.
Just watched it again and absolutely no need for it. Deserves to be fined heavily for letting his side down for this game but also the next 3 games.

Appen it was like that at the game. See it again though and it's an outrageous tackle, really. It's probably the worst tackle by a Burnley player since Ball on Dunn.ElectroClaret wrote:Didn't think it was at first, but on seeing the replay, its a stonewaller.

Re: Brady
Critical stage of the match and with that challenge he gives the ref a decision to make - the ref is Mike Dean so no surprise to see the red card.
As others have said, grab his arm or run across in - either would have done.
Just back to fitness and now banned absolutely no point appealing that.
Run in the team for McNeil who on the evidence of the last two games could really make a sustained impact.

Had he not made the challenge and they went through and scored you'd be calling him 10 fold!
Took one for the team, you might not like it and its unethical, but im glad he made a challenge to stop that run.

Re: Brady
Luke Shaw vs Newcastle. That's how you deliberately stop play to earn a yellow card.
Re: Brady
Think that’s a red - both feet off the ground and no attempt at getting the ball.
As for the worst could by a Burnley player since Kevin Ball challenge....mmmm....that’s just a bit silly !

A bit harsh when you look at Shelvey and Lascelles only getting yellows.
