Having watched it on both Clarets Player and MOTD the cross is swung in direct onto Munie's head with lots of swerve. It was never there for Heaton or either of the defenders to reach. Would have liked to have seen more pressure on their man from Mee and Taylor though. However, sometimes you just have to accept that the other team can do good things too.

Heaton 8-His presence alone is worth a point or two.
Bardsley 8-looked really up for it again and inspiring.
Tarkowski 8-Solid and tried to keep us on the front foot when they went down to 10 men.
Mee 7-Dont think the booking helped his game.
Taylor 8-Get's better every game and is reading it better defensively.
JBG 7-Can be brilliant and frustrating in equal measure.
Westwood 9-Cometh the hour, cometh the man.
Cork 8-As on Sunday, Jack getting back to his best.
McNeil 8-Playing without fear and its infectious
Barnes 8-Some partnership he's forming with Woody, long may it continue.
Wood 9*-May Star man twice on the trot for me. Can't believe it. He's doing everything I wanted him to do and working his socks off.

Lowton 6-Difficulty getting into the game
Brady 6- Don"t blame him for the tackle, it needed doing. Another ref might have given a yellow.

Its looking a whole lot better and we are certainly playing more expansive. Long may it continue.

Another massive 3 points and really good to see the confidence coming back to some of our key players. We played some really decent stuff at times and I think we would have won the game more comfortably had it not been for Brady's moment of stupidity.

I don't expect any keeper to have intervened, but that's not my point.

My point is having conceded similar goals with Hart in net he's come in for stick, Heaton hasn't. It's interesting. It's almost like people have an agenda, almost...

Bardsley 7 solid enough
Tarky 8
Mee 6 sloppy, rarely found a Burnley shirt under little pressure
Taylor 8 did very well at both ends
McNeil 8 assist, got a man sent off. Fearless and drives forward a a lot, which eases pressure
Cork 7
Westwood - excellent
JBG 6 quiet, seemed to take the wrong option too much
Barnes 8 excellent
Wood 9, scored, and all round play was excellent. Won headers, ran the channels, held the ball up and brought others unto play. Surprising his influence when we play a bit

Lowton 7 steady
Brady 5 even with out the red, he wasn't very good

Edit - took me 15 minutes of re-reading to spot it, it have been on the big screen in a few weeks if not amended...

Would just like to point out Tarky did Two horrendous passes almost resulting in a goal. Mee did one simalar.. whilst I agree with the score you gave Me I can't see why you would give Tarky 8 for doing the same. Pretty inconsistent scoring.

Hennessey 7

Roberts 6
Harwood-Bellis 7 - impressive debut
Collins 9 - hope he stays!
Taylor 7

McNeil 8 - this is the Dwight we missed!
Cullen 7
Cork 8
Brownhill 7 - need another winger

Jay Rod - 7
Twine - 8

Kompany 6 - lots to learn about this division

Fingers crossed that the next three or four get over the line in the next few days.

Still, a 5-4 win is great value but the recipe for a heart attack! Welcome back to the Championship again, folks!

Brownhill 3

Now I realise he didn't even play but was at fault for at least 2 goals

Looking back at the 2019 line up, is it any wonder we were relegated. With the exception of Heaton and Brady, every other player that played in that game was in our squad last season, with 9 out of the 13 being regular starters. It would have been 10 if JBG wasn't so injury prone. As has been mentioned previously, you cannot keep the same players year after year in the Premier League and hope to survive.

This line up from 3.5 years ago highlights just how poor we have been at refreshing the starting 11.
