Any Bardsley updates

Post by piston broke » Thu Jan 03, 2019 11:43 am

Thought he was holding his ribs at first but when physio got to him it seemed to be hip.
Any news?

Hes a tough bloke. He wont be out long . We have good cover anyway. Its the left side of the defence that concerns me most.

I don't know about that. Ward is making his way back and Mee can play at left back, so can Brady to an extent. If Bardlsey is out for any length of time we have Lowton on the right and that is it. At some point in the future we will probably have to freshen up our options at left back, but I would say that we currently have less depth at right back. Bardsley can also play at left back.

Bardsley offers so much more to the side than a left back.
His reading of the game, his get stuck in mantra and his willingness to drive forward at every opportunity is crucial to the team at the moment. First name on the team sheet for me.

Bardsley offers more to the team than a left back because he is a right back :D :)

Bardsley has been excellent since Lowton got dropped ( deservedly IMO). Fortunately he has over a week to recover before the Fulham game

First name on my team sheet as well, at right back, but he can also play at left back - which makes him even more valuable.

I was talking squad depth and in no way was I suggesting he isn't our first choice right back at the moment.

What did we pay for him?

£1.5m

Our recruitement team might not always get it right, but when they do get it right they really do.

Over stretched heading away from 18 yard box.. Appeared to feel it straight away.
