Re: Vincent Kompany
Not sure why this couldn't have been put in the City v Liverpool thread.
Re: Vincent Kompany
Agree he should have walked. The pundits during the game made little of it. Two feet off the ground, definite red for me. How he stayed on the pitch for the tackle on Lennon at their place is beyond me. Mind you it was Jon Moss

Re: Vincent Kompany
Far worse than the Brady one.Kompany's was a potential leg breaker.
A definite red card.

Re: Vincent Kompany
There have been 3 tackles in the last 2 nights worse than Bradys.
Shelvey might get retrospective action but the other two are in the clear with a yellow.
No consistency.

Shelvey won't get retrospective action as the ref saw it and deemed it a yellow

Re: Vincent Kompany
The referee gave a free kick but Shelvey was not cautioned, in fact, I was at the game and it didn't look anything in real time, although there was a bit of a scuffle involving several players. It was only when I saw it on MOTD later that I realised what the fuss was about.claret10 wrote:Shelvey won't get retrospective action as the ref saw it and deemed it a yellow
Having said all that, Brady was not even trying to get the ball so he can have no complaints at all.
Re: Vincent Kompany
Is he allowed to be sent off? The shocker on Lennon within 3 minutes v us deserved 2 reds!

Re: Vincent Kompany
Why has the game swung so much to the lets send everyone off side?
Both feet went off the ground for a split second as he was stretching for the ball, same as Lovren earlier in the game.
Brady run at pace, two feet off the ground and scissored him to make sure he took him out.

Re: Vincent Kompany
If Salah hadn't seen him coming and jumped, they'd still be picking bits of his ankles off the turf. If you go in full welly straight at the man, even if going for the ball, then you should be sent off - it isn't fair to rely on the other bloke seeing you coming.Quickenthetempo wrote:Why has the game swung so much to the lets send everyone off side?

Re: Vincent Kompany
It seems that "elder statesman" Kompany is untouchable, the same thing happened in the game against us.

Re: Vincent Kompany
Definitely could have been a red, but fair enough that the ref went for a yellow given that no contact was actually made.
Like Brady's if you get a red for that you can't complain, but you'll get away with it a bit less than you get done for it. These decisions don't fit into neat boxes entitled "right or wrong". No two incidents are the same - Brady's is very different to either Kompany or Lovren - and the ref has to make an immediate judgment, and all humans see things differently.

Re: Vincent Kompany
Should have been a red, would have been a red for any player outside of the top 6 clubs. The non red is totally in keeping with my opinion of the standard of refereeing being unfair to clubs outside of the top 6 who are bomb proof. Pep also set a great example in the big match of the season by showing every grass roots player, supporter and coach how to act when you are wronged, what a complete womble and what will happen to him, nothing. Not sure I like Man City any more......
