Coincidentally there was a good programme on the Hollies on SkyArts this afternoon. They were a prodigious band in the late 60s and 70s even after Graham Nash left for work in the US. Genuine Manchester lads who added lots to the early music scene with their harmonies.

As per CleggHall, I noted there was a SkyArts prog on the Hollies earlier today. I spotted it a bit late though and only saw the last 10 minutes or so. It got me singing away at a few of their hits for the next half hour. They did some terrific songs with a fair range of styles/moods, still well remembered after 50 years.

My sister used to knock around with Bobby Elliot before he became famous, he lived not far from us. He had hair back then, no need for the hat

Good. I'll watch that in full then.
I have to admit, I watch a fair bit on SkyArts. Until a couple of years ago they had 2 channels split (broadly) between more highbrow and more popular artforms. It's all mixed in on one channel now. Some good music stuff on there.

Re: Eric Haydock RIP
Eric was a Manchester lad. Bernie Clavert, who replaced him on bass, was a Burnley lad and used to stand on the Longside sometimes about five yards away from me and my mates. I saw Bernie and Tony playing with Ricky Shaw and the Dolphins as second on the bill to Joe Brown and the Bruvvers in about 1960. There were only two acts on the bill though.
