Teji savanier

Post by Reecey1987 » Mon Jan 07, 2019 10:03 pm

Burnley are showing interest in Nimes Olympique centre midfielder Teji Savanier, who is valued at around 10 Million Euros. Savanier has scored two goals and supplied five assists so far in thirteen Ligue 1 games this season.

No chance of him playing for us, you're only allowed 11 players in a team.

Not sure anyone will get this

How tall is Messi ? Wouldn't say no to him if that was on the cards. (Not that he ever will be)

Bit of craft and guile rather than brute force. Might be a refreshing change in the creativity department we have been craving.

I noticed Alan Nixon suggest on Twitter that Mike Rigg is scouring the European market.

At least if we were to attract a signing like this there would be little room for criticism, at least until we'd seen him pull on a Claret and Blue shirt.

Our midfield get knocked off the ball to easy as it is another midget won’t help. He won’t help defending deadballs much either.

David Silva 5'8''
Eden Hazard 5'8''
Juan Mata 5'7''
Alexis Sanchez 5'7''
Sergio Aguero 5'7''

I wouldn't have any of these tiddlers near my team. Now give me Costel Pantillimon (sp?) at 6'8''

Piston, would you say 'no' to a midfield of modern-day equivalents of Alan Ball, Billy Bremner and Johnny Giles?

There's ALWAYS room for criticism, the more baseless the better.

You sound like my dad, he would have always had a team that looked like the land of giants although with one exception - Brian O'Neil would have always walked into my dad's all time Burnley team.

He's arguably been the best performing centre mid in France this season. Would be an interesting signing.

Yeh you couldn't sign any of them too short and useless :o
And imagine him at 6ft 8inch on line for corners, he wouldn't be able to head a ball of line as he would knock himself out on the crossbar, give me 5ft 10" every time, must tell the club, how talls Defour oh hang on he's short as well useless then

Kante is only 5"6 and he's regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

I’ve nothing against skill players but we’ve looked to lightweight against the bigger sides, Jack Cork in particular and he's a 6footer. It’s balance we’re after.

Alan Ball, Billy Bremner and Jonny Giles would cut it in any era IMHO.....great players and 2 of em right horrible bas-tards who would go toe to toe with 6ft 5inch pussy cats like Feliani, Pogba or Matic any day of the week.

What really gets you is that Bremner and Giles were such good footballers they didn't need to behave like out and out thugs. Giles is as bad as anything I've ever seen.

Google Translate from article in French Press in November. Seems like a decent player!

https://www.la-croix.com/Sport/Nimes-Te ... 1300981977" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Nîmes: Téji Savanier, a crocodile good in his skin

His paw draws many looks, arouses greed and comments: arrived three months ago in Ligue 1, Nîmes Téji Savanier is making a name for himself.
"It's no surprise that he has been playing in Ligue 1 for the last four years," says his sporting director Laurent Boissier: "He has a golden foot, short or long play, he plays fair and has the sense of collective".
"He has a volume of play, a technical quality," adds the former middle "croco" Eric Garcin (1987-93): "He sees the game before receiving the ball, always a step ahead and on the set kicks, it is a real plus ".
"He is impressive, he arrives, he imposes himself, he is able to enlighten the game. Technically everything he does is perfect, I love Savanier", enthused the former Bleu Luis Fernandez last Monday , in his show "The Eye of Luis" on beIN Sports.
With two goals - a penalty against PSG and a free-kick against Reims - and a decisive pass in 7 starts, his statistics do not affect the counters, but with or without his elf, Nîmes does not have the same rhythm.
Certainly, the middle croco still shows waste, but it improves the collective. With him, the promoted scratched three wins, 10 points and scored 14 goals in seven games; without him, with four points and four goals in five games, he did not score any success.
Last season, Savanier had already found the net four times and delivered nine assists in the league after being crowned one season earlier (2017), best passer of league 2.

Soon to be 27, under contract with Nîmes until June 2021, the small midfielder (1.71m-62kg) was also noticed by his altercation with Kylian Mbappé and the five suspension games collected for a foul foul on the Parisian international.
Because the player from the city Gély, in Montpellier, where he still lives today, also knows how to show character. "I'm a Gypsy, a Mediterranean, I'm not ashamed, but I also have a little warm character," assumes Teji Savanier, before tempering his words.
"It's good to have temperament, but you also have to know how to channel it, and I'm sometimes too explosive. When I play, I feel this inner flame, but I'm not a thug or a thief. Kylian did not deserve a red.The penalty is disproportionate. My best answer, it is on the ground where, in seven games, I received no warning, "he recalls.

Formed in Montpellier, it is on the other side of the Vidourle, in Arles then in Nîmes, that it traces his career. "My life is the South, the Camargue, I live in Montpellier and Nimes is my heart club.I am home, it's my home," says the middle. "The city has character, it's my identity, it's a crazy thing ... In Costières, there is a real fervor, it's a football ground." With this audience, I have the hairs that stand It's hot as in an arena, it screams, it lives football, it smells of fighting.
This feeling of good football life does not prohibit projections. "We do not know what will be done in the future, I'm in contract with Nîmes until 2021, but I'm ready to go anywhere, we must also know how to look elsewhere," he says. . "But today, my priority is this maintenance with Nîmes, and a success, (Friday) evening, facing Nice.It will be complicated all season, but we have our place in Ligue 1".
