One spin-off from the Lovren injury has been a U-turn in a decision to allow keeper Simon Mignolet to leave the club.

The Belgium star wants regular first-team action but Klopp is believed to now be not keen on letting such an experienced goalie go in the light of the defensive injuries.

Sounds like they are going to be playing Mignolet in defence

Teams like Utd and Arsenal will be looking for defenders far better than Tarks. Only reason Liverpool may be sniffing about is cos they are absolutely desperate for a decent CB.

The headline is they want him on loan, which won't happen because there would be no benefit to us loaning him at all. Why would we let him go on loan? He is arguably our best, or at least one of our best players who is a regular, you don't loan out regulars to anyone, ever. You loan out fringe players. This is a none story.

He's going nowhwere, at least not yet and certainly not out on loan.

Liverpool wouldn't hence why they signed a player like Van Dyke and not Tarks. Liverpool are in an unbelievable position to win the title and have had a disaster with injurys to their defence so they are desperately looking for a quick short term fix so they are not relying on a 16 year old or players totally out of position

Tarks would probably be a decent 3rd or 4th choice CB for Liverpool long term with potential to improve so it wouldn't be totally wasted money.

I agree it won’t happen but for arguments sake couln’t he go with Mee, Long and Gibson with Jimmy Dunne, hopefully on recall?

Yep I could actually see our board accepting a ridiculous offer of £50m or higher but whist I could see Liverpool wanting to get hold of Tarks to cover their gaps think its just paper talk and cant see it materialising any further

Wanting one of our starting CB’s on loan - if true is just mental to even comprehend asking a team.

Maybe we could do a deal where we mom Salah off them and they get Tark til summer? They have attacking options and we have defensive options so it’s a fair deal all round.
