Burnley FC – Annual In Memoriam

Post by ClaretTony » Sat Jan 12, 2019 9:40 am

Burnley FC Supporters Groups would like to thank Lee Hoos, who supported this when it was first introduced, Dave Baldwin for continuing that support and Darren Bentley for putting everything together for today.

All those who we will be remembering today are named at the link below

ANNUAL IN MEMORIAM DAY:Canadaclaret

Post by Foreverly Claret » Sat Jan 12, 2019 10:16 am

I see that today we are remembering fans / associates who sadly passed away in the last 12 months I didn't know about this or I would have asked for Canadaclaret to be included .Steve was a true fan and a regular contributor to this board .During his years at Towneley he was a ball boy on the Turf and well known in local football and cricket circles .He died in April and although he's not on the list he will be in the thoughts of many of us.UTC

Forevely - we’ve been doing this for the last seven years and it has been advertised. I wish I’d thought of CanadaClaret.

A number on there I’ve known over the years.

ClaretTony - is that list cut and paste from elsewhere or did you have to re-type it all?

I only ask as I see the name of my mate's late father Donald Hitchen has become, incorrectly, Hitchin, and as such, I hope any similar error isn't repeated on the big screen, etc..

Thanks.

Did anyone manage to get a video of the minutes silence and the big screen showing the names in real time. I can't see the screen from JMU so I would appreciate any footage as a friends name was up there.

I received it from the club but I've now corrected his name on this list at the link.

Bit of a grim suggestion I know :? but you could do a thread / sticky similar to the clubs board

ClaretTony; that is much appreciated.

Apparently the live video version on the big screen was changed too once my mate contacted the club; just the 'rush copy' was wrong but they really shouldn't misspell the local surname of a lifelong fan and long-term season ticket holder.

Thanks.

Would love to have done it for my dad,but the big screen is no longer visable from the bob lord, so kept my thoughts to myself during the silence

The whole thing is an excellent idea ( and probably not a straight- forward project to manage) and a few glitches are likely.. well done to those who get it put on.
