Scary thing is 9 from 9 and still only 3 point cushion.IanMcL wrote:So pleased Chelsea won!

That's how dire the situation was, Sussex! Every team seems to get a purple patch, then reverts to normal. Let's hope this is now normal (as it was last season), for u and our purple patch is around the corner!

And that just underlines the still precarious position we find ourselves in. No team in probably a bottom 7or 8 can let complacency set in after a decent set of results. Just over two weeks ago Newcastle were 6 points in front of us after a draw at Watford and I think Cardiff got a last minute winner at Leicester on the same day to create the same gap for them. I've heard a lot of people saying that Huddersfield are 'gone'. I don't subscribe to that at all.dpinsussex wrote:Scary thing is 9 from 9 and still only 3 point cushion.

The major difference between the other lower half teams and Huddersfield is even the likes of Cardiff and Fulham have shown they can score goals and amass points,Huddersfield are goal shy and points shy, they would have to have a crazy run to stay up,their last 3 games Fulham,Us,and Cardiff they have scored 1 goal and collected 1 point, their next 4 games are Man City,Everton,Chelsea and Arsenal, best of luck to them getting many points out of those games.Silkyskills1 wrote:And that just underlines the still precarious position we find ourselves in. Re: Chelsea v Newcastle
Even if Brighton struggle I cant see 5 teams coming past them so whist they might drop into the bottom 5 or 6 no chance they'll go down. By the same token whist Huddersfield could improve and not come bottom I cant see them overtaking 3 teams to stay up although I wouldnt rule it completely out as theirs some sh*t sides including us in the bottom 6Silkyskills1 wrote:And that just underlines the still precarious position we find ourselves in. Palace down to Fulham fighting to stay out of two relegation spots for me
Re: Chelsea v Newcastle
So after their next 4 games they could start to turn the corner whereas we had better have turned ours and be safe by the time we reach game 35.tiger76 wrote:The major difference between the other lower half teams and Huddersfield is even the likes of Cardiff and Fulham have shown they can score goals and amass points,Huddersfield are goal shy and points shy, they would have to have a crazy run to stay up,their last 3 games Fulham,Us,and Cardiff they have scored 1 goal and collected 1 point, their next 4 games are Man City,Everton,Chelsea and Arsenal, best of luck to them getting many points out of those games.
Can we get 15 points from next 12 games assuming the 18th team after 38 games has 35points?
Re: Chelsea v Newcastle
Considering no other team has come close to surviving when in a similar situation I'd say they were well and truly gone.Silkyskills1 wrote:And that just underlines the still precarious position we find ourselves in. Re: Chelsea v Newcastle
I agree with mdd, I think 5 wins are what is required. There are probably 9 games realistically that we could win. Just about 50% success rate in those required.
