Andy Taylor
The more I see of him the more I realise what a truly awful ref he is.
Denies Bournemouth a pen, indicating the Everton defender got the ball. Not even close.
Then when Brookes gets taken out by Bernard plays the advan but doesn’t book Bernard later.
I can’t remember seeing him have a good game.

Are you going to tell him or shall I?
Re: Andy Taylor
He's alright is Andrew. Prefer Michael Atkinson or Martin Oliver.Claretincraven wrote:Are you going to tell him or shall I?

Re: Andy Taylor
No, he has spotted the amount of players diving around trying to con him and is not entering into the spirit of things by going along with their cheating antics.
Brookes was fouled by Bernard, it was just a foul, it wasn't dangerous or threatening so how is it worthy of a caution?
The penalty appeal, Brookes had hold of the defender's shirt, he then let go and fell over because of it.
This first twenty five minutes has been a disgrace with a number of players from each side trying to cheat, however, fans just blame the officials.

In normal circumstances, when a break is on, Bernard hacking down Brookes would be a yellow. There was no attempt to play the ball.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:No, he has spotted the amount of players diving around trying to con him and is not entering into the spirit of things by going along with their cheating antics.

Why did he point at the ball, which is generally used to indicate defender has made contact?
Sorry to read you are stopping going over VAR and hope you reconsider. It’s a game, played by rules, so let’s have the rules enforced. I appreciate there are lots of grey areas and we’ll still get controversy but the blatant errors are a start.

Re: Andy Taylor
Players pointing at the ball ---more cheating if they know they didn't win it, similar to a player who knows he has put the ball out of play appealing for the throw or goal kick, corner etc. Players are now being penalised on occasions when they have won the ball fairly and squarely because they are deemed to be endangering an opponent, being out of control or some other manufactured offence.piston broke wrote:In normal circumstances, when a break is on, Bernard hacking down Brookes would be a yellow. All matters of opinion, as it always has been, however, VAR introduces two more opinions as is stands at the moment.
Blatant errors according to who though? The onfield officials, the VAR officials, the managers, the players, the backroom staff, the fans, the pundits or those in the media that are driving the introduction of VAR? Who decides?

I know how vehemently you detest it so I won’t get into one over it. Keep smiling.Ashingtonclaret46 wrote:Players pointing at the ball ---more cheating if they know they didn't win it, similar to a player who knows he has put the ball out of play appealing for the throw or goal kick, corner etc. Players are now being penalised on occasions when they have won the ball fairly and squarely because they are deemed to be endangering an opponent, being out of control or some other manufactured offence.

Always smiling, it's only a game, just a shame that it is nowhere near as good as it used to be.piston broke wrote:I know how vehemently you detest it so I won’t get into one over it. Keep smiling.
Keep smiling yourself amd remember that it is only a game, certainly nothing to get uptight about.

Re: Andy Taylor
The quality of the football and the speed these teams move it about and press each other is a level above what us and the bottom teams play at. Been a great game to watch and neutrals must watch teams like us, Huddersfield and Cardiff and wonder how we are in the same division.

Re: Andy Taylor
I agree that the speed the players go down as if shot is far superior to what we see from our players, I also have to compliment them on the way they keep an eye on the referee to see whether or not they have conned him followed by the speed with which they jump up when they realise that they haven't gained anything. Far superior to our players and long may it continue.
