Spurs v Man Utd
The first real test for Man Utd under Solskjaer and they came through it with a display of attacking and defending in the Ferguson mould. David de Gea was unbelievable with 11 quality saves in the 2nd half alone as Spurs launched wave after wave of attacks.
Great game to watch and Man Utd were dominant in the 1st half with Pogba pulling the strings.

Spurs should have won easy

Helluva game to watch as a neutral... memories of Tom Heaton v Manure a few seasons ago in all the saves De-Gea made in the 2nd half

Re: Spurs v Man Utd
Spurs battered them for most of the second half. David De Gea was easily the man of the match.

Yeah I was thinking, watching the game, when Heaton is on fire there's probably only De Gea who is better.Bosscat wrote:Helluva game to watch as a neutral... memories of Tom Heaton v Manure a few seasons ago in all the saves De-Gea made in the 2nd half

First half they attacked and countered like the old Man Utd under Ferguson.
Second half though they were woeful and only came away with anything thanks to the brilliance of De Gea. Great game though

Re: Spurs v Man Utd
Sorry to say that a careless pass by Trippier resulted in the goal - a different decision probably meant that it would have finished as a draw or Tottenham win. De Gea MOM
Re: Spurs v Man Utd
Agree with Souness that Pogba knew full well what he was doing in that tackle with Alli.

Wait, are we now declaring Tom Heaton as the 2nd best keeper in the world?FactualFrank wrote:Yeah I was thinking, watching the game, when Heaton is on fire there's probably only De Gea who is better.
Re: Spurs v Man Utd
If Heaton wasted as much time as De Gea did he would have at least been booked.

Re: Spurs v Man Utd
He should know. I remember him taking out Trevor Steven at Anfield ,think it was League Cup semi. That was the end of our chances of going through. Also when he was at Rangers he almost killed an opponent in a Champions League game. Makes me laugh when he tries to criticise what he made a career of.jrgbfc wrote:Agree with Souness that Pogba knew full well what he was doing in that tackle with Alli.

I thought Pogba should have gone for his challenge on Alli, especially as Dean sent Brady off for much less. Interesting to listen to Souness and Rednapp discuss it - my gut feeling is JR doesn't think too much of Souness. Jamie looked really peed off with him!?
It was a good game though although Spurs still wouldn't have scored if they were playing now. It was just one of those days for them.

Jamie Redknapp doesn't really talk much sense. He never really has. He talks the obvious. What he says, a million people at home will be thinking, "Yeah, but we all know that" - in a really cockney accent.Goodclaret wrote:I thought Pogba should have gone for his challenge on Alli, especially as Dean sent Brady off for much less. Six out of six for OGS...all good runs come to an end eventually so hopefully against the Clarets - well I can dream!
Re: Spurs v Man Utd
I think it's fair to say the feelings mutual! Souness clearly thinks Redknapp is a bit of a clown and doesn't have much respect for him.Goodclaret wrote:I thought Pogba should have gone for his challenge on Alli, especially as Dean sent Brady off for much less. Is OGS in training for when he comes to us?
