Quick poll...
As the option isn't turned on, we'll have to give a single word reply.
Do you think we need to sign a player (at least one) this window, who is good enough to walk into the starting 11 (in terms of quality, not when SD decides to start him), in order to stay up. Yes or No.

Re: Quick poll...
No ........... but it would help
Yes .......... if it's on a loan
Tie breaker = No
And if we don't sign any first team players we should be bringing in some younger players for the future, whether they are players on the cusp of first team action or longer term development candidates.
If the worst scenario for this season does play out, and it is looking far less likely to do so after our resurgent form, the next window could be horrendous. Should we lose any players we could find ourselves needing to do a huge amount of team building and based on previous windows we are hard pressed to do the minimum amount.
Having a couple of players on our books with Premier league potential, who could step up and play in the Championship at an earlier date, would make that job a lot easier if the need should arise. It will also be far easier to bring in players during this window than it would be if the curtain of doom falls and we find ourselves one league lower, with a reduced pool of candidates to pick from.
Doing nothing at all in this window would be a very big mistake, we can't afford to stand still and smell the flowers.
