If you could sign one player
That is realistic, this January window who would it be?
For me Krzysztof Piatek of Genoa. Although he is already now starting to get admirers from bigger clubs.

I'd say you need to get out more if it wasn't for all the murderers running up and down your street

Going to A.C isn't he? Gonzalo's replacement as he is coming to Chelsea?cricketfieldclarets wrote:That is realistic, this January window who would it be?

Che Adams,
Bradley Dack,
Ward-prowse,
Matt Phillips.
Take any of them and would like to think all within our reach financially.

Apparently loads are interested. Including West Ham. But AC Arent the force they were nor will he get the exposure (or even money) he would in our league.Raggus wrote:Going to A.C isn't he? Gonzalo's replacement as he is coming to Chelsea?

Mentioned Che Adams before. Really like the look of him and the Birmingham fan at work loves him. Mind you she also loves Jutkiewicz.Raggus wrote:Che Adams,

Jackson Martinez. Contract torn up in China and on loan in Portugal, currently
Re: If you could sign one player
Guess that's an opinion based question you ask, I wouldn't hand on heart say they are better than what we have, but I would put them on par, which adds squad depth, on top of that they are all of an age with time to improve to become better than what we have (bar maybe Phillips). All opinions tho really, that's the great thing, opinions vary.piston broke wrote:But are any of them better than what we have? Not for me.

Re: If you could sign one player
Ward-Prowse would be a good signing but doubt Saints would sell him especially to a relegation rival.
Philips would be impossible to get over the line due to WBA.
Dack would annoy our neighbours but I think he’d also annoy me he looks a bit of a two hat.
The Markovic post interested me a bit last night. To take this guy on loan till the end of the season would be a decetn shout for me. Check out his attitude, let him show how good he can be and offer him/don’t offer him a contract in the summer when his contract with liverpool is up?
As for the two who’s names keep getting threads pulled well, I’m going for it...Joe Allen and Adnan Januzaj, not heard any whispered about either of them but I’m positive he’d both improve our chances of survival

Re: If you could sign one player
Would sign Dack even if he never played a game for us just to hear the horse botherers wailing into their pot noodles. Actually he WOULD play for us as he is a damn good player (although not experienced at PL level).Raggus wrote:Che Adams,

Re: If you could sign one player
Markovic of old would be a great signing. Something not quite right there though. Apparently he has an excellent attitude. I mentioned on that thread perhaps theres more to it than attitude. Belief or off field issues?Hedontplayforyou wrote:Ward-Prowse would be a good signing but doubt Saints would sell him especially to a relegation rival.

Allen will be a very good signing imo. Suits our style and system perfectly. But a touch of class.

Adam Lallana on loan till the end of the season. Doesn’t get a game at Liverpool these days.

Cardiff going for it with Niasse and Sala signings, wont be cheap I would imagine, interesting to see what affect new big earners have on other players in the squad.

Cardiff doing it the right way for me, they gave all the promotion winning side a go at things and did quite well with momentum.ewanrob wrote:Cardiff going for it with Niasse and Sala signings, wont be cheap I would imagine, interesting to see what affect new big earners have on other players in the squad.
Now they bring goalscorers in to improve them and if they come off will keep them up.

Re: If you could sign one player
People are throwing any names in we have to be realistic Lallana is on hundred grand aweek
We have a cap of around 40 to top end 50 but will not exceed that
And its well documented now and agents will no there not going to get big deals out of us.
We are not at the races in the wage margins of the premier leagues earners
So the pool of players will be ending career aged type players or good championship types to train to our style of play
This is a reason we need to look into the European market or get outside investment
We simply can't afford premier blooded players especially young to mid range UTC

We wouldn't match his 65 k a week wages so forget itcricketfieldclarets wrote:He isnt getting a game. He is also not on 100k a week.
Lalana is an excellent shout.
If we go down and its a big possibly we would be stuck with a big layout on a 3 year deal and with the club well renound on not gambling then very unlikely.
I would love a player like Lallana playing for Burnley but its wishful thinking Iam afraid

Re: If you could sign one player
Shelvey would be way out of our price range both in wages and transfer fee in my opinion.
Moses is a player I can’t stand. He throws himself to the deck at every opportunity trying to fool the referee, regardless of wether or not contact has been made by an opposition player.
Loftus Cheek on loan would be fantastic but that’s a pipe dream

Shelvey looks like a West Ham signing if I’ve ever seen one
Re: If you could sign one player
Lallana could be doable if Liverpool covered half his wage, like City are allegedly doing with Hart. Not sure exactly where he'd fit in if we're playing 442 like.

Why on earth would city pay Hart's wage's he doesn't play or is even on their books anymore.jrgbfc wrote:Lallana could be doable if Liverpool covered half his wage, like City are allegedly doing with Hart. Not sure exactly where he'd fit in if we're playing 442 like.

Just looks like a fit for West Ham. Replace the crocked Jack wilshere , homegrown, started his career down there with Charlton, and names been touted about in regards to signing for them.Steve1956 wrote:Please enlighten me what is a West Han Signing,is it similar to "Dyche Fit?"

Re: If you could sign one player
It’s been known to happen so that the player off the books, even when the club taking him can’t really match his wages, so they tend to pay the difference until the contract runs out. Or negotiate such dealSteve1956 wrote:Why on earth would city pay Hart's wage's he doesn't play or is even on their books anymore.

There's been quite a lot made of SD signing the right type of character/person as well as having playing ability. With this in mind, why would he want to sign Shelvey?

I think JC would be good can twist and turn faster than most, extremely good at blocking, very vocal and would only want to be paid the minimum living wage, and possibly he could be got on a free transfer ( according to TC)
