If we beat Soton at home...

Post by Marney&Mee » Sun Jan 20, 2019 6:17 pm

Cardiff will in effect be 7 pts behind us before they play Bournemouth at home at 5.30. Huge pressure then on them to win that game.
Newcastle have City at H then Spurs away.
Could look pretty good by 7.30pm on 2nd Feb

Depends to a large extent on what they do at Arsenal and we do at Man United the midweek before. Though you may be taking those results for granted! ;)

If....

Absolutely nothing guaranteed. Spurs only helped our cause today by the skin of their (and our) teeth.

Southampton are playing well, with renewed confidence. We cannot take this game for granted just because they were **** six weeks ago.

Southampton in really good form, will be very difficult.

If other results go for us then I’d be happy with a point, Cardiff is the game that we HAVE to win to bury them.

Why? Are they any better than the strikers Watford, Fulham or West Ham have?

Yes of course but we are playing much much better now so I wouldn’t go worrying to much.

They have a rest this weekend before they go to Arsenal with there exit from the cup it would have been a good opportunity to have them watched as they would have being playing at Accrington.
Saying that it probably would have been the second team they would have fielded
we will both be facing each other with a defeat it depends on how we perform in the night games that will have a big factor we really need to be up for this game its another 6 pointer.

Ings and Austin are unlikely to be turning out for Watford, Fulham or West Ham.

Point is we've kept some very good strikers quiet in recent game with Tarkowski and Mee back to their best.

Saints have definitely picked up of late and unless they suffer a massive set back in the next couple of weeks, they'll be full of confidence and it won't be easy. (Let's hope we are still bursting with confidence , even after visiting Manchester twice in 4 days!! )

Really?

So you think Ings and Austin are better by a country mile than the likes of Arnautović, Deeney, Mitrović etc ?

Ings has 7, same as Mitrović, 1 less than Arnautović.

Deeney has 5
Austin has 2.

A fully fit Danny Ings is a cracking player, think Charlie is a bit below that (but probably a better goal scorer)

Not sure they are better than this seasons Arnautovic though!

Notwithstanding Southampton, we certainly will have to be at our very best to beat Crystal Palace. They seem to perform far better away from home, as their recent performances against both Manchester City and Liverpool testify. They brushed us aside easily at Selhurst Park.

One game at a time please gents.

If we ignore Saturdays diversion we have to concentrate on Manure next Tuesday

its about time the Ole bandwagon stuttered a little and we might just come home with something

We have to be at our best to beat all premier league teams (Fulham apart).

What's new?

And yes Spijed going to Goodison park is far tougher than Watford.
