Hopefully Sean will take zero risks with injuries/red cards etc. The result is meaningless . My team would be

Hart
Lowton Gibson Long Ward
JBG ( if fit)Hendrick Defour Brady
Vydra Vokes

Subs. Nobody who played at Watford

Move on to Old Trafford and win

UTC

Exactly the team I would have suggested.

Think you nailed it at the first attempt. Maybe JBG not to play for or not

There’s no way I would play JBG , why would you risk him ?

Pope
Lowts, Longy, Gibbo, Wardy
JBG (assuming fit) Defour, Westy, Brady

Vyddy and Vokesy

Crikey, our second side would get promoted from the Championship. Not bad at all.

I'd change the 'Subs. Nobody who played at Watford' bit though. I'd still want strong options.

If fit he needs playing time to regain match fitness

He’s not fit though is he ? Quite obvious we brought him back to soon last time.

Pope
Lowton Gibson Long Ward
? ? ? Defour Brady
Vydra Vokes

if we are sending an experienced team, personally I'd send half the u23's and throw them in at the deep end.

Playing Ward might just convince him it's time to retire if he gets the run around all game. The worst game you could put him in if we are trying to get him back.

We can't just roll over, play well and keep the momentum going.

The sports science team will say who needs a rest.

Do we really want to risk an absolute thumping though? Tough ask for Ward and Defour to play against a team like City when they haven't played for 6 months pretty much.

No way i’d play JBG - he’s got himself injured twice in the FA cup now.

My team would be
Pope / Hart (Pope for me)
Lowton Gibson (or Mee) Long Ward
Brady, Defour, Cork, Hendrick
Vokes Barnes

Strong bench

442 will result in a hammering. Pope surely has to play as does Vydra.

Pope has to play.

Hart has too many mates at City and if he thinks he's about to leave here then his heart won't be in it.

Is the Man U game more important than Southampton. It's a big ask to get the same team to play all 3 games, but I'd rather we played our best team against City, and give them a rest before the Saints.
I do believe, the way we are playing, and the fact that United aren't going to win one sooner or later, that we could get a result at OT, but that Southampton game is so important

*********************Pope
****** Gibson******Long*******Mee*
Lowton*****************************Ward
*********************Tarks

********************* Vydra

Need to rest our full midfield and Barnes and Wood
The defence have been comfortable in the last 5 games work rate wise

As it’s City boost them with Gibson and Long

Big call as to whether to play Ward or not. He's nowhere near 100% but people are talking about throwing him in against the best attacking wingers in the country. He needs the minutes and my gut feeling is that he will play, it just seems a little unfair...

Pope

Lowton
Long
Tarkowski
Gibson
Ward

Hendrick
Defour
Cork
Brady

Vokes

I couldn't give a toss is we lose 50-0, United game and Southampton are far more important

[quote="FactualFrank"]Crikey, our second side would get promoted from the Championship. Not bad at all.

It's a measure as to how far Burnley have come in just five years that a 'second' team of such relative strength can be named.
Prior to Dyche, a first eleven Championship team would comprise a handful of quality players at best.

Heaton,

Hart was too chummy with them when we played them in the league!

Didn’t effect the result but got Reet on mi paps

Play the first team. If the poor lambs are so unfit that they can't play two games in a week, then they can have Tuesday off - we're no more likely to beat United than City. Probably less likely, on current form.

Anyway, if they're so unfit that they are likely to get strains and pulls from an extra game, it's better to find out now than on 1st February.

Totally agree.

It's 90 minutes of football played by very highly trained and paid professionals.

Play the same team as Watford and the same at Old Trafford.

Just seen an interview with Dyche on the official site stating that the squad players will be playing. I was still considering going on Saturday but these comments have made my mind up for me. If the manager can't be bothered with the Cup why should us fans be? Fair play to anyone making the effort to go to watch an almost certain hammering.

Equally City can ill afford any injuries to key players in their chase to catch Liverpool, Champs League and League Cup Final. Aguerro, Jesus, if either of them got hurt by the nasty players of Burnley or the midfield City assassins were red carded by VAR for simulation and general cheating.........our B team could just pull off a shock UTC

Guardiola has generally gone pretty strong with his FA Cup line ups. Looks as though City are pretty much injury free as well. Even if they change their full starting XI they can still call on the likes of Gundogan, Mahrez, Foden and Jesus!

We all know what happens to us in the cups if he changes half the team.
If we do it at City they will past us, we've just about found the right balance now after over half a season with chopping and changing give it a good go and try keep the momentum going forward
I bring Brady in mabe Gudmundsson if fit play Pope and try Wood with Vydra but that's about it keep the nucleus of the team

After reading the article on the Burnley site, I wouldn't be surprise to see Pope, Long, Gibson, Ward and Brady start.

With JBG and Lowton not making it.

Pope
CB's - Gibson Long Taylor
WB's - McNeill Ward
CM - Hendrick Defour
AMC - Vydra
ST - Vokes Barnes

Lowton not expected to be fit and Bardsley is a doubt.
assuming none of those three make it then I would possibly go with the following:

Pope
Ward Long Gibson Taylor
Hendrick Defour Cork Brady
Vydra Vokes

Hart Tarks Mee McNeil Westwood Wood Barnes
