What happened to our sponsor?
What happened to our sponsor?
Not a betting man, so it might be just because of that. However, when they took on the sponsorship, they had a big launch event, website promotion etc and stated that there would be lots more to come.
Nothing heard by me since. You?

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
Just let this sink in... if Dwight McNeil was not quite 18 yet, he would HAVE to play in our first team, wearing a shirt without a sponsor!
I hate gambling in clubs and I really hate the fact that representatives of our club have openly said that they don’t see any problem with the amount of gambling on show around our ground!

It's the modern world, we take the money and don't really give it a thought.
Re: What happened to our sponsor?
When did that come in for first team kits? I know there are rules around u18 sides but didn’t think it would apply in such an instance.jdrobbo wrote:Just let this sink in... if Dwight McNeil was not quite 18 yet, he would HAVE to play in our first team, wearing a shirt without a sponsor!

Thinking Reece Oxford in a West Ham shirt with a betting logo, though a couple of years back.

None of which has even remotely answered the OP's question! I'm not a betting chap either, but have they gone bust or summut?

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
They’ve just been a typical sponsor so far, just like any other foreign sponsor like Dafabet and FUN88. I’d imagine the UK isn’t really their market.

this sponsor - they have been doing this all season - though like us they must have been disappointed with the first half of the season

Thanks ChesterP. Not exactly an upfront startling participation, is it.

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
The club won't openly criticise a business giving them money. They can probably see your point about the amount of gambling advertised around the ground, possibly might even agree with it too behind closed doors, but openly it wouldn't be sensible business to agree with anything that would reflect as negative towards a business providing funds to the club.
Might even make future businesses think twice, or offer less money.
Although I do agree. There's too much gambling around, to the point that it's seen as just a normal part of football, like you have to do it. Which I don't!

I'd rather be sponsored by a literal one armed bandit.
Re: What happened to our sponsor?
How long is this latest sponsorship deal for, does anyone know ?
Re: What happened to our sponsor?
I love how football prides itself on being the moral compass on which to guide the working classes on issues like racism, sexism, homophobia, bullying etc etc but then loses any real credibility by selling out to gambling companies. These companies have destroyed many lives. We may as well be sponsored by heroin or cocaine.

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
Interesting thread this one. Not really thought about a club sponsor (ever) or what they should be doing. I do recall a poster was once unhappy about Premier Range been our sponsor as he consider their products and reputation to be poor. Possibly too much time on his hands.
What more do you want from a sponsor? Apart from Hollands Pies I don't think I've bought anything from a Burnley FC sponsor. There might be some on here still living in a Poco Home full of oak furniture , insured by Endsleigh with a P3 computer in the study.

This. It's to get exposure in the far east market, they don't actually care too much about GBclaptrappers_union wrote:They’ve just been a typical sponsor so far, just like any other foreign sponsor like Dafabet and FUN88. I’d imagine the UK isn’t really their market.

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
This genuinely made me laugh. Sponsorship works both ways. I recently went to my local retail park in Orpington to buy a tin of paint from the Crown Paints shop. I swiftly walked back out when I saw a framed Blackburn Rovers shirt (shirt sponsor Crown Paints) on the wall above the counter. Nowhere is safe.NL Claret wrote:What more do you want from a sponsor? Boohoo should be our sponsors
Re: What happened to our sponsor?
That clobber advertising Boohoo's range in the programme is absolutely awful.
I don't know if they are trying to be proper gangsta but it knocks Bobby Firmino's recent effort into a cocked hat.

There are articles daily in the papers of just how bad their and their subidiary labels (especially Pretty Little Things) product is. Can't get over how this caring campaignng generation lap up this junk from sweatshops across the continent (including lots in this country) where workers are earning no more than a couple of quid an hour. Nothing ethical about a dress for less than 10 quid - people are being stiffed all down the line.

Re: What happened to our sponsor?
I worked at Boohoo for a time about 6 years ago in their social media department. Awful working culture and **** pay. The warehouse is notoriously bad too.
Awful company.
