I'd bet we'll keep it tighter against Liverpool though!Blackrod wrote:This is how teams feel in the SPL when they go to Celtic. There’s no competition and no point in them turning up. In a cup though you’ve got to give it a good go. There’s a reason tickets were cheap.

You don’t really believe that, surely.jrgbfc wrote:Because he never wanted him in the first place, so he's trying to make some kind of pathetic point to the Board.
Does Dyche appear the type of manager who would accept being undermined by having signings given to him that he doesn’t want?
4-0
Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets FA Cup R4
The typical battering we knew it would be. Certainly no magic in the FA cup with games like this. Only hope is it won't dent our league confidence, which it shouldn't. Blow the whistle ref..

It's like watching the year 11's at school against the year 9's. Boring really. Not just for us either, for the majority of teams in the league
Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets FA Cup R4
Why do we seem to cenceded more against Man City than virtually any other team, with our so-called defensive framework?
Fulham, Newcastle, Palace etc. all conceded less this season.

City have spent approximately £1.4bn in 10 years, with no imperative at all to concern themselves with anything like costs or wages. The only surprise is that it's only 4-0.
We should be angry at them and the way football been administered rather than anything else.

They’re just too good and it’s not really a shock with the difference in money spent, and that’s all it is.
Same league but leagues apart.

I'll go with that Jacko. Football in this country will finish up eating itself if there is no intervention soon.

You do realise only Fulham and Cardiff (just) have worse defensive records than us this season in the league? we've conceded 12 and 11 more goals than Newcastle and Palace respectively this seasonSpijed wrote:Why do we seem to cenceded more against Man City than virtually any other team, with our so-called defensive framework?

Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets FA Cup R4
it was obvious from the line up that Dyche didnt have any intention of making it competitive; half of our team are players coming back from injury, others havent played and the only regular ones were Taylor who played right back and Tarks and Jeff in their normal positions. Oh, and an 18 year old.
Cant judge anything from today apart from the mentality of the manager.

Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets FA Cup R4
Vydra was signed on the back of a season in which he was championship top scorer, and any Derby fan will tell you he scored almost every single one from behind the striker and is not suited to playing up top on his own.jedi_master wrote:I don’t get this perception that it’s Dyches fault that Vydra isn’t good enough. He’s played, what, maybe 8-9 games now, has he looked good enough (really) in any of them? If Dyche had Messi in his squad, he’d play him, he isn’t playing Vydra because he is the worst of the strikers we have, what other bizarre reason than that could there be?
Especially when the evidence is there when we watch him. Possibly the worst signing we’ve ever made when you consider the £12m cost.
And why was he signed in the first place? Because we didn’t sign Dyche’s favourite player in the world seemingly - Jay Rodriguez.
Dyche isn’t a fool. He must know full well Matej Vydra is not an out and out striker. But he played him there anyway, isolated against the best team in the league. I’m simply connecting the dots - I see a Mourinho-esque attempt to teach the board a lesson here.

You don't believe that. Our board don't sign players without Dyche's say. You're just frustrated watching this the same as everyone. You just deal with it by being by being an annoying little wet wipe thoughjrgbfc wrote:Because he never wanted him in the first place, so he's trying to make some kind of pathetic point to the Board.

Even if the do overtake them they certainly haven't got a better strike force than Liverpool and I'd be a bit more confident playing at Anfield.jedi_master wrote:Personally I believe they are and that they will overhaul Liverpool.

First half was solid, but boring.
Second half has been peak Burnley 18/19 - let’s hope this slip into the old ways is just a one off on account of the opposition and team selection.
