Brexit and the north

Post by fzr162 » Tue Jan 29, 2019 3:23 pm

With all this uncertainty over Brexit We in the north need to stick together. With this in mind I propose we form a super county by merging Yorkshire and Lancashire. Safety in numbers and all that.
The name of this county could be a merger of the two county names. we would take York from Yorkshire and shire from Lancashire, the name of the new county YORKSHIRE.

What about the other northern counties? We could take the Du from Durham and the mb from Cumbria.

Hey, I'm in Lancashire.

The clue is the name!

Who has ever heard of Burnleyshire?

If you drive up from Ribblehead towards Hawes there is a sign saying "Welcome to Richmondshire"

I don't consider either Lancashire or Yorkshire to be in the North, although they are north of Watford so southerners will consider that they are.
