con --if yours runs into years, then so must mine because I don't just watch the Clarets, as you know. Most weeks I spend at least four and a half hours watching live games these days. I too am an old git!! :D

Convert it into miles travelled and it is equally frightening.60 years and counting I've been going to Turf Moor from Rossendale. Missed some through my studies in London for 3 years but I still must have been to 1500 or more home games at approx. a 22 mile round trip. That comes to at least twice round the world. And then there's the away games!

Silky --interesting thought!
I moved away from Oswaldtwistle in 1966 when I joined the RAF and since that time I have never lived closer than 100 miles from the Turf, including 8 years spent in Germany when I used to travel back quite a lot to watch matches.
In the 1970s I used to drive up from Weston-super-Mare to Bomarsund, Northumberland and pick up Billy Ingham's parents and take them to home and away games, take them home and then return to the west country --often covering well over 1000 miles in a weekend.
I had never thought about it until you mentioned it above ----the mind boggles!

You are indeed a true supporter Ashington, many of us may only attend half a dozen matches a year but somehow the Clarets get into your blood. Up when we do well, miserable and irritable when they do otherwise. I couldn't sleep last night at the injustice of, let's face it, a good away draw but at 0-2 up in the 81st minute I hoped for much more. It's not easy being a claret but we have no choice I am afraid.

Wow, puts my 22 mile round trips in the shade. Mind you, I have walked to the match on two occasions. :)

As I said, I have never really thought about it, I just enjoy going to the matches and for the last 30 years it has been a 300 mile round trip.
We are all fans and that is all that matters, I was thinking of not renewing my ST for next season because of VAR, however, my missus has persuaded me that I should ---I think that she just likes to get me out of her hair for the day!! :)

You all sound like you're all trying to outdo the other for a role in the Burnley version of the old comedy classic skit, "The Four Yorkshiremen". Does any of you actually live in a cardboard box? If so, you win.
