Every transfer window is the same. Embarrassing.

Most important thing is nobody leaving. As with every January. The window can close now for me. Right as we are.

Dyche- 'tough window, we go with what we have'

Nothing will happen I'm 80% sure
All these teams working up to 11pm to recruit, the usual 7pm tweet from Burnley saying no further business from us

Not getting Crouch will be like a new signing to me.

Crafty psychology from the club there.

I have to admit I haven’t been excited about this transfer window. I honestly think we’ll not sign anyone.

I believe and have faith we will land 2 players today

We really are complacent when it comes to the window. Hopefuly our recent form doesnt mask the fact we are very short in a couple of key areas and at risk in others.

With our injury record and our run in 2 quality players should be the minimum. However operation lower expectations kicked in alongside a run of good form.

We need at least a winger and a central midfielder. Arguably a full back and a striker too.

I reckon we'll make a deadline day triple swoop raiding Stoke City to sign Peter Crouch, Darren Fletcher and Charlie Adam. You can never have too much experience. They're a good bunch of lads for the dressing room with some truly top bants. Or we just won't sign anyone

I’m amazed anyone has even bothered to follow the transfer window this month.

We should all know the score at Burnley by now

Charlie Austin is on 75K a week, so that's not going to happen. Cardiff now in for him but wages the issue there too.

People complain about us always buying championship players but we will very rarely be willing to match an existing premier league players wages. At the end of the day we have a Championship wage structure while competing in the Premier League.

Sounds like we need to look abroad a lot more than we do.

If we don’t sign a CM you just know Jack Cork or Ash Westwood will spend Saturday evening watching MotD from a hospital bed.

Chris Boden just tweeted that Vokes is having his Stoke medical, and Crouch is indeed part of the deal.

At what time will the first random foreigner be linked and get everybody excited, only to be dismissed 15 minutes later?

The rumours are simply not true about Crouch. It's Vokes for Cash plus Butland as we want another England keeper to improve competition.

Well I can see the thinking as was both players have proved to be and are still effective goal scoring subs... we shall see?

I don't know but that Grosicki thread a few years ago was great fun.

It has to be hoped the thinking behind the Vokes/Crouch deal is to allow us to maintain player levels in case we don't use the cash to persuade Birmingham to sell Adams....or to fund Austins wages?
For us to do this deal and then not land anyone else will be utterly bizarre business from us and will rightly be seen as an another abject transfer window failure.

Crouch is still an effective goal scoring sub?

Have we got a time machine and signed the Crouch from 5 years ago. Because in the last 3 seasons he’s got 10 goals in all competitions.

If we do indeed swap Vokes for Crouch I can only assume Dyche doesn’t feel like we are hoofing it enough, and wants us to hit the clouds from the back. :D

If Crouch is a very small part of the deal, maybe 15-20% of the value, then it’s not a bad exchange in all honesty. Crouch has a deceptively decent touch for a big guy, and will win everything in the box for players to get chances off him.

I’d rather have Vokes over Crouch any day, If Vokes wants to join Stoke fair enough and can’t really blame him, Vokesy has been a great servant to Burnley over the years. But getting Crouch in return is a complete joke of a deal.

I’d rather have nothing in return and be left short of a striker for the remaining season.

20% of a £9 million fee is £1.8 million.

You’re happy spending that on 38 year old Peter Crouch?

If this is a 4th choice striker for the occasional 5 minute cameo what’s wrong with Dan Agyei?

If we do sign Crouch then that just sums up the shambles of the so called recruitment team , no one can justify bringing him in , but I bet they’re will be .

I would like to think that Crouch is the alternative to the extra money we were chasing for Vokes and that the fee is still 9M. I'd still have preferred to squeeze the cash out. Stoke will hardly believe their luck.

I live a few hundred yards from Gawthorpe 'appen I should nip down with my camera and big lens.

I can get some snaps of the lads and photoshop different heads on to keep everyone amused whilst the club conducts it's business in private somewhere else, probably around Manchester (or Birmingham, or Stoke).
