I think he would outrun me but that's not hard.

Even outdance me.

But I think I will score as many Burnley goals as him.

No. I don’t think I can. I’m 53, and he’s 38 or summat.

Trouble is, it’ll be closer than it should be.

Yes, and if he did get in front, I'd trip him up!

Pretty confident I could, and that’s worrying.

He’s a fit bloke though so by the time I’m panting he will be slowly lolloping past me like a giraffe with piles.

Yes but I reckon that with me being 5ft10" I am also very confident he could out jump me.

I definitely would be able to but i don't see the relevance.

He will come on for games in the latter stages, hold the ball up bring others into play and then head for the eighteen yard box to get his 6ft 7inch frame on crosses, if the quality of crosses is good he will bag a few times before the end of the season.

If we are playing through balls or expecting him to run the channels then that isn't his fault it's down to our stupidity in asking him to do things he couldn't do 15 years ago, nevermind now.

The failings of the last two transfer windows aren't the fault of Peter Crouch that's for sure.

The addition of a slow Crouch to our already one paced attack is not relevant?

Trouble is, in the latter stages, the only 18 yard box that sees any action is ours... so maybe it’s his defensive headers we are hoping to utilise.

No because the player he is replacing severely lacked pace as well.

We should have been signing serious competition to the two guys who are hold of the shirts now, if and only if we had done that then this signing would had made sense.

I would go as far as saying that if Vokes was pushed down to fourth choice striker and therefore a purely impact substitute, it would have been an excellent deal and made perfect financial sense.

We're going to miss Sam Vokes' blinding pace.
