I think I can count on one hand the number of times Dyche has made a sub prior to 75 minutes this season (that wasn't forced through injury)!

That said I would like to see more of Vydra, but unless we get an injury to one of our main two, I cant see Dyche using him much, as he will be likely using Crouch in these late scenarios now.

Vydra will, barring injury, have a big part to play as soon as the current, relatively unsettled side is disrupted by any more injuries or suspensions.
He and Dyche will know the role he was bought to play.

I agree the lad needs some game time, we can then see what he's about. I do wonder if our Club interviews players just as they would anyone coming for a job, the reason I say that relates to his interview at Leeds prior to coming to us.

To be honest he also gives the option as a wide forward in a 4231 with Wood up top then Barnes behind and Vydra and Mcneill/Brady/JBG on the other side.

We have options, when everyone is fit, however injuries could leave us short and its not been addressed

The problem Vydra has is we just haven't found His game. With any player you buy, they should be bought because they suit your system, or the system you want to play in the future. At the moment he isn't there for our system, and we aren't changing to one that suits him. Time will tell. I would rather see him try and fail, than never be given a chance to show us what he can do. He could have left the club before we get it right. That would be a shame for everyone concerned.

Vydra for me is a championship player not up to the PL in my view. Just an opinion from what I’ve seen of him. The same bracket as Vossen, Juke, Bamford.

How do you know that? We've hardly seen anything of him. Also you could say that at leat half our team are Championship players but SD gets the maximum out of them.

It’s an opinion not something “I know” . I’d rather leave that to those that see him in training and pick the team. But my judgement is not just based on him playing at Burnley. It’s at Watford Reading and Derby too.

This is true, and I too would like to see Vydra in the team at some stage but lets not dwell on the ifs buts and maybes but just enjoy the teams current very good form eh?

I'm pretty sure Dyche would switch to 4-5-1 rather than start Vydra.

Yes. I'm hoping we get to see more of Vydra with Sam leaving. He was the top scorer in the Championship so should give us most of what Che Adams would bring if not more.

Vydra is possibly our best striker. Just needs a good run

Vossen. I had genuinely forgotten about him

Players often take time under Dyche to find their place and own their spot. I don't think it's any reflection on Vydras ability that he hasn't had much game time yet. I think he'll be delighted Sam has gone, in a professional sense, and he'll be raring to get a chance.
For me I'd like to see him in a 442 but given the license to drop deep and find space between the lines without the defensive obligations Hendrick had as the attacking midfielder in a 5

Vydra needs a run of games, that's for sure. Maybe for nothing more than for people to make an educated decision on him.

If we mis-manage him, we end up with a Juke or Bamford or Wells. What's the point in that?

Given the opportunity I do think Vydra will benefit more from partnering Crouch than Vokes. By no means am I knocking Sam at all as I am a fan of his and I am of the belief that we are weaker without him, but what’s done is done now. I’ve always had the perception that one of Crouch’s real strengths has been how he has often unselfishly brought others (strike partners or attacking midfielders) into the game. I might be completely wrong and we might not see them ever partnered together but Ill certainly be intrigued to see if it does bring more out of Vydra if it happens.

Can’t see us disrupting the 4-4-2 as it’s working with Tom in goal and the front two.

We’d need to get the full backs forward for that formation to work and even though bardsley is playing well he is not a flying full back. We’d be awesome if we could find the next trippier

Vydra belongs behind the striker, that’s where he achieved Championship top scorer for Derby. Their fans have often said he was ineffectual up top alone.

I still believe Vydra is a good player and can offer a lot, but you’ve got to start by using him properly - isolated alone with no target man against City was something I cannot justify whatsoever.
