I'm making this stat up but I bet I'm not far off - every three games Burnley play, Crystal Palace get a penalty.

Typical Taylor performance. Let’s their lad off for a shocker on Taylor, books Barnes for a non-dive then books Bardsley for a dubious tackle.

Crooks and Keown on the BBC say pen - the BBC match reporter cannot believe that Barnes was booked for diving "he obviously didn't" was her verdict

I could understand the yellow for Ashley's reaction at the lino

Then the VAR assistants will make sure we don't get a penalty. You can only go so many games before you realise they know how long it's been and don't want to be the man to end that run.

Haha!! A poor ref makes incorrect decisions or misses blatant things. That was unquestionably a pen (its impossible to see it any other way from every angle), and impossible to miss (ref and Lino looking straight at it). That decision is pure bias. Or to put it correctly: cheating

I wouldn’t normally say this. But Barnes reaction is fully justified

And the ref should be asked to justify his decision too

Once or twice maybe but it's happening every week, usually they even themselves out over the season,if that's the case we're due about 5/6 penalties for the rest of the season.

BBC:

“YELLOW CARD
Burnley 0-0 Southampton
Well, Ashley Barnes has just been booked for simulation. The Burnley man goes down inside the area under the challenge of Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy - not sure it was a dive or a penalty, a touch harsh.”

Turns out they aren’t neutral after all. Pathetic comment. Another person not worthy of their job

Guardian: Burnley, who haven’t had a penalty in their past 67 Premier League matches, are denied what looks a clear one when Ashley Barnes is brought down by Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy. Barnes is booked for diving and goes crazy, effing and jeffing at the referee for all he’s worth. He’s lucky to avoid a red card and Southampton are equally fortunate not to be facing a penalty.

Copied from the John Moss thread the other day

THEWELLERNUT70 wrote:
There are certain top flight refs you can almost guarantee will make a controversial call in a game week in and week out, some are simply not up to standard yet week in week out don't appear to be pulled up and instead some appear to be rewarded by officiating a high profile game the following week. Moss is one of those refs along with Pawson, Mason, Friend, Taylor,Scott.

It's all too predictable that at some point one will drop a massive bollock on virtually a game by game basis

Rant over

And another one ticked off the list I posted before the Man U game!!

How the actual f@ck has Taylor missed potentially the most blatant of penalties this weekend for a foul on Barnes. An utter disgrace of a decision!!
