Played our get out of jail free card there. Totally undeserved but we'll take it.
4 games without a win now, how the tide turns.

PS in case anybody missed it. Crouch worried him into the pen. What a signing.

Well, in contrast to the game at Old Trafford when we felt like it was 2 points lost, perhaps this feels like a point gained. We deserved that goal - certainly deserved a pen and that somewhat makes up for the decision that went against us in the first half. We weren't excellent today (terrible in possession and Cork is far too passive) but when we got the ball forward, we caused them problems. Pleased for Crouch. He came on and he caused them problems. I can see he's something different for the opposition to have to think about. Happy with that. UTC.

Nah it doesn't. We've played very well since the turn of the year and picking up a point today is what we deserved, especially after poor decisions against us.

No we didn’t. They were the better side until they scored, then went to plan B and allowed us to go at them. If not for a silly pen they had us on toast.

Something of a karmic penalty, after the shocking first half display by the ref.

1-1 was a fair result given the performance of both teams.

Southampton have quite a few good players. Having a manager that has some idea of what he is doing, instead of Hughes, has made all the difference to their ability to compete.

Unbeaten in 6 and still people moan,Southampton are fighting for their lives also, did folks really think they would just come and roll over.

If Cardiff lose tonight the bottom 3 are effectively 2 wins from safety, certainly not home and dry yet but every point matters.

Crouch clearly caused problems which ultimately led to the penalty award, decent debut.

Stats: Burnley/Southampton:

Shots: 15/10
Chances Created: 11/11
Big Chances: 2/1
Accurate Passes: 313/269
Pass Success: 68%/66%
Fouls: 10/9
Corners: 4/2
Offsides: 2/0

The stats of course don't tell the full story, but from the bits I saw from the feed, before it kept breaking up, a draw is fair. We should have a penalty earlier, but they had a one on one, which they'll think they should have buried.

Hi Frank, I know it's the excitement of scoring in the last few seconds plus the excitement of bering awarded a penalty after too long a time,

but, don't we celebrate a goal for the Clarets with

I am lost as to how you can think that. We were definitely the better team throughout. Yes we were very sloppy at times and had so many crosses into the box that no-one was on the end of, but we offered far more than Southampton IMO. I think Southampton were lucky today to leave the Turf with a point.

But we weren’t and I watched all 90mins in perfect HD.
As good as we’ve been recently we were shocking.
Back to all the problems of the early season. Not passing to where it was wanted, crosses coming in from poor angles with no pace and far too late.
The big bonus McNeil brought to the team was the early cross, with pace. After the first minute cross to Barnes we didn’t see another. Taylor was back to standing still with the ball cos he had no movement in front of him and when he did go at his man they very easily took him over the goalline.
Praying it was a one off within this recent run.

Whatever you think of the performance that is 6 points officials have stolen from us in 3 games - would have been a record 6 wins on the bounce and 30 points on the board with incredible momentum and confidence building

Well we gained a point that was lost to the referee but not the other 2 he stole.

Chicken livered fool, who should be struck off.

Anyway, I thought Madge, not Naughty Madge deserved a showing, to close proceedings....although easily confused!

Well done Clarets
