4 days is a long time in football...

Post by Marney&Mee » Sat Feb 02, 2019 8:05 pm

Wednesday morning, very bullish about our prospects..chance to go 8 pts clear of Cardiff before their game tonight. As it stands only 3 pts clear of them (gd worth 1 point)

Need soton to beat Cardiff next Sat. A Cardiff win will put is in the bottom 3 before we kick off!

Anyway, still reckon we’ll be fine and dandy...

Great pt today given how the game planned out. Wasn’t that impressed with us. Thought too many players were missing. Maybe hard to raise game again after Tuesday.

Soton will stay up, no problem

One Swallow doesn't make a summer and our supporters should do well to remember that

We’ve doubled our points total in six games, we’re heading in the right direction. On to Brighton who aren’t in the best of form at the moment.

The gap to Cardiff is concerning but if we play like we have since Boxing Day for the remainder of the season we'll be fine and dandy. 6 games undefeated and we've been unlucky not to pick up more than the 12 points. Worth noting that we're also level on points with Newcastle and Southampton and it's in our hands to catch Brighton next Saturday.

We were blooody dreadful today. And we need at least a 6 point gap going into those last 4 games.

Some of your posts in the last few weeks are off the chart. Are you having some kind of breakdown or something ?

How can you call the performance “dreadful” when we should have had 2 penalties, hit the bar, missed 2 sitters, had more possession than the opposition etc ?

Were Southampton dreadful aswell ? Because their manager said that it was a fair result and that they had been lucky.

Yes they were. Especially at the back.

Redmond and Ward Prowse looked good. And Ings caused a few issues before he was withdrawn. But at the back they were awful.

The crossbar effort was a fantastic piece of skill from Barnes.

But missing two sitters surely backs up the point we were dreadful!?

Our back four and keeper are good, as good as most in the PL, unfortunately we have a midfield, who struggle to pass to each other and we have no pace at all in the final third. Apart from that we're fine.

Good consolation from today is that we didn’t lose at St Mary’s. But we should have won, could argue we were hard done by but the goal we conceded was very poor.

Next week will be just as big. Brighton are revered at home, but are in a terrible run of form. We can’t allow one of those games where we allow a mid table side to dominate us from the off.

No it doesn’t...one was a good save and the other a good piece of skill before get his shot all wrong.

So both the sides were dreadful ? 2 sides that have some of the best form in the division in the last month or so ?

Ok...got you

Yep. You can be in good form and have a bad day.

Much like when we were in awful form and faced west ham....

In the last four matches one of them is against Everton who look dreadfully out of form. Silva might even be gone by then.

Cardiff have Liverpool and Man. U. to play during the same period.

Vydra surely has to start now.
Barnes takes 1 in 6 chances, just not good enough at this level.

Very silly comment!.......He's the best we've got, by some distance!
