Leeds looking at Lennon
For the summer, according to Nixon. An interesting one.
How long has he left here? Just a year?
I like Lennon but he's not really made a massive impact of late.

Ship him out, we've got his long term replacement already at the club.

And who is that? One thing we don’t have is another right footed winger.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Ship him out, we've got his long term replacement already at the club.

We don't always play with a right footed winger on the right flank so not really sure where you're going with this.MonkeyThief wrote:And who is that? One thing we don’t have is another right footed winger.
Lowton can always overlap if you're desperate for someone with a right foot out there.
Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
Didnt he start his career at Leeds ?
Could be a big pull for him to return.

Of the 4 wide players on our books he would be the one to upgrade on. McNeill has made much more of an impact in a much smaller number of games.

He came, he tried, it hasn't been anything special for either party. Time to let him try elsewhere.

I'd happily let him go in the summer if we suitably replaced him.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
I'd ship him out if we can, frees up a squad place and wages for any incomings,in addition he's 32 soon we need to try and attract younger players with a point to prove, the fee won't be huge but it's better than him walking for nothing in 2020.

Is JBG not a right footed winger?
Anyway, by the by, if Leeds come knocking let him go. Not to be blunt but he’s crap.

That is valid but JBG has always appeared more comfortable playing on the right rather than the left.MonkeyThief wrote:And who is that? One thing we don’t have is another right footed winger.

Has pace and gets back to cover but hasn’t offered much else in his time here. Given McNeil, JBG and Brady all offer a final ball, I’d happily let him go.

One good game in 40, has to go for me, we still haven’t solved our right wing issues since we were in for Grosicki.

Lennon and JBG can go for me.
Both Like empty crisp packets getting blown round the pitch.
And JBG closes his eyes when he goes in for a fifty fifty ball.

I seriously hope Mike Rigg has sorted his inter rail pass and is there now seeing what he can unearth as we really need to not get the big boys cast offs in the summer!

JBG is currently our best right midfield player. Why would you let a player go before replacing him?bartons baggage wrote:Lennon and JBG can go for me.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
First of all, to let JBG go would be ridiculous.
Lennon can go for me, whichever league we are in. He doesn’t do enough and we could do with younger options.
Sell him for a decent price, bring in Ollie Watkins and Jarrod Bowen.

Didn’t we buy Lennon for 1 mil? I doubt we’d be able to sell for a decent price at his ageHedontplayforyou wrote:First of all, to let JBG go would be ridiculous.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
Well he won’t be going on a free. Not our fault that he only cost £1m .
If we deem an offer unfit we will reject it.
Just as we get rejected ourselves when we offer £5.75 as opening offeres

Nope pretty sure he’s right footed from his YouTube highlights, maybe hull are playing inverted wingers...

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
I will personally drive Lennon to Elland Road. A winger who rarely tries to go past his man. When Sean switches him to the left it’s a total waste of a shirt. Move him on.

He cant go anywhere until weve recreated Nathan Dyer and Gifton coming off the bench together.

JBG always favours his left, I'd be very surprised if he's not naturally left-footed.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
Started ok, got worse and worse to the point of easily forgetting he was even playing on some occasions. Offers no attacking threat and seems to have a chronic lack of confidence these days, which is a huge shame as when he puffs his chest out (City at home, Bournemouth at home) the old Lennon from 2006 ish is still in there.
I would happily see us let him leave, if we get a fee as well all the better. He would be fourth choice out of the wingers at the club now, maybe 5th even behind Hendrick.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
For a small squad with have a lot of sicknotes,Defour,Brady,Lennon,JBG i can excuse the latter as he is usually out for short periods and when he plays can be effective with goals and assists, but the other 3 have offered little this season and are stealing a wage,i personally wouldn't have taken the one year option on Defour, and would rather take a punt on a young lower league talent,Brady flatters to deceive and is too fragile, and Lennon is ageing and can't or won't take full-backs on.IanMcL wrote:Brady and Lennon can go. Not up to scratch now.
IDK for certain but i'd guess Defour,Brady,Lennon are amongst our highest earners, and if we want to ease the wage bill to remain within the limits, this trio would be first out the door,if we can persuade someone else to take the gamble on their fitness, all three only have a year on their contracts so we'd have to upgrade/replace them in 2020 anyway.

Come on now, they’re not “stealing a wage” are they? I’m pretty sure that they’d most definitely not be injured but be playing every week.tiger76 wrote:For a small squad with have a lot of sicknotes,Defour,Brady,Lennon,JBG i can excuse the latter as he is usually out for short periods and when he plays can be effective with goals and assists, but the other 3 have offered little this season and are stealing a wage,i personally wouldn't have taken the one year option on Defour, and would rather take a punt on a young lower league talent,Brady flatters to deceive and is too fragile, and Lennon is ageing and can't or won't take full-backs on.

Re: Leeds looking at Lennon
I'm sure that's true and any player can get injured, but this is a recurring theme with these particular players, and as a club we can't afford to carry so much deadwood on our books.Winstonswhite wrote:Come on now, they’re not “stealing a wage” are they? Defour has 51 PL appearances and this is his 3rd season,Brady has 38 appearances and joined us just over 2 years ago,Lennon arrived in January 2018 and by comparison his stats aren't bad he has 30 appearances, but how effective has he been in his time here, tracking back yes it has to be done, but his role should be creating and supplying the forwards.
We're incredibly fortunate McNeil has broken into the 1st team at a much needed time for BFC,his contributions have filled a big hole in our attacking play.
