Re: Leicester v Man U
Thank god Solskjaer gave that big lump Lukaku a run out against us cos if Rashford would have been down the middle and Lingard out wide dont think Utd would have needed to rely on Ref decisions as theyd have brushed us aside comfortably

I really don't think it would have made any difference. We pressed and defended brilliantly for the majority of that game.Devils_Advocate wrote:Thank god Solskjaer gave that big lump Lukaku a run out against us cos if Rashford would have been down the middle and Lingard out wide dont think Utd would have needed to rely on Ref decisions as theyd have brushed us aside comfortably

Re: Leicester v Man U
Different Burnley and different Utd teams back then. Apart from against us Utd were struggling against everyone else around that period and its just that we were so awful (Mee was shocking)Winstonswhite wrote:Take it you missed the home game!
Solskjaer has built his success on electric pace and quick passing with Lingard Martial and Rashford up top. Southampton were sh*t but the pace of Redmond and Ings (while he was on) was causing us problems so the Utd front three would have ripped us a new one.
Mee and Tarks are far better equipped to deal with a big physical forward like Lukaku and when I saw the line up my eyes lit up and thought we have a sniff here
Re: Leicester v Man U
“Big lump” playing physical players is how United should have done it. I remember the home game from 16/17 - Mourinho stuck Fellaini on Barnes for the whole game and completely ended us.
OGS played the unimposing Pereira and he got badly exposed.

Utd were so statuesque under Mourinho he had to employ tactics like that. Utd now are mile better. Totally agree with you point on Pereira as them resting Herrera was another gift to give us hope.SGr wrote:“Big lump” playing physical players is how United should have done it. well - it's a comment on the 'Leicester v Man U' thread informing anyone viewing the messageboard that the player you mentioned is coming on as sub and it's his 300th PL appearance...don't be so touchy!Devils_Advocate wrote:and your point is?

Re: Leicester v Man U
It was widely accepted before they played us at The Turf that Moanarino was one game from the sack, they were playing so badly, but we were poor that day and gave him a stay of execution. Shame tbh because if we'd really turned up they were there for the taking.
