Greek Superleague

So far, 4 matches completed today and a grand total of 3 goals scored. People actually pay to watch this stuff?

European Football is missing us sorely. We managed to get a Greek side to score 3 in a single game, should let us back in next season.

2. Olympiakos Piraeus 10 8 1 1 23:4 25 is their home record this season so conceding 3 is not unknown but the away team scoring is very uncommon at their stadium.

Back in the late 60s and early 70s it was not unsual to see no goals scored at all in a weekend programme in Italy, it was ultra defensive, but it was still one of the srongest leagues in the world and Italy had an amazing national side. Games don't have to have goals to be good if the STANDARD of play is high enough and Italian football at that time was indeed very high. It used to be said that, at club or international level, if you went 1-0 down to an Italian side you might as well pack up and go home.

I can't comment on the current standard of the Greek league but it used to be better than it is by all accounts. From what I gather half the clubs have no money.
