Still think the remoaners would win a second referendum? it’s been a month since your electoral drubbing and I haven’t heard a single mention of a second referendum. Why’s that then do you think? is it because everyone but you realises that the GE was the second referendum?
The party with the working majority won and therefore there is no point asking for a second referendum, it is, like you - pointless. Only a simpleton thinks a general election is a referendum.

W.T.F? No point? A second referendum would give everyone the chance to give a direct vote on the EU, whereas a General Election only gives one the opportunity to vote for the party that represents their views on the EU. However, such was the scale of the Conservative victory, especially in traditionally ‘safe’ Labour seats, that it was blindingly obvious, even to a simpleton like me, that this was a Brexit referendum in all but name. Even the dullards in Labour admitted as much after their annihilation. However, to people like you who refuse to admit that the ‘thick racists’ who voted leave would win on an even playing field, it obviously still really hurts. Which is good.

More people voted against the Tories than for them.
More people voted for remain/second referendum parties than for pro-Brexit parties.

The large Conservative victory was due to FPTP, not having the majority of the population on it's side.

Using your logic , it's bad news for Man City fans .

If you add the points tally, at the end of last season , of Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. London FC are the current premier league champions.

No.

I'd briefly thought about sending a few quid to help out those MPs who'll miss out on £31,000, that most MPs receive when they've lost their seat following an election.

Sam Gyimah, Phillip Lee, and former Labour MPs Luciana Berger, Angela Smith and Chuka Umunna because they attempted, unsuccessfully, to win different seats to the ones for which they were originally elected, dont qualify!

Poor lambs!

Brexit - the gift that just keeps on giving! (Which is what I wont be doing to those democracy denying snakes!)

What a silly analogy. If you add the points of City, Utd, Liverpool, Everton and Burnley then the PoL FC are Champions!!

More votes went to parties that supported remain? Yes or no.

On the 31st of January 2020, at 23.00 the UK leaves the
European Union.

You have lost the arguement.

I won it.

You regard it as a win. The fact is the whole country is poorer for it. for whatever reason the population voted leave they were wrong. Britain out of the EU is a minor player on the world stage. Whatever it is you are pointing out, Trevor, it isn't a fact. It is an estimate worked out by an anti-Brexit economist. Basically what he has done is look at annual growth figures for the UK and compare them with 6 other countries, 3 of them in the EU, and assume that if we hadn't voted for Brexit, the UK economy would have behaved relative to the other 6 in the same way as it did before Brexit.

For example, after the Brexit vote the US economy grew faster. Possibly more to do with Trump's spending, but nonetheless, it grew. But the Germany economy grew less fast. Possibly due to dodgy car dealings and the slowdown in world trade, but its growth slowed down.

And this bloke has averaged out the German and American economies, along with France, Italy, Canada, and Japan, and picked an average figure and guessed that that's where we would have been and that we would have been umpty billion worse off.

For his next trick, he's going to stick his thumb in the air and tell us what Burnley's league position would be if we hadn't spend £15m on Matej Vydra. It will be interesting, but not definitive.

“We’re … talking about companies that have known since 2016 that we are leaving the EU.”

Which is true (ish) but no-one actually knows what the new regulations are going to be so unless you're going to have contingencies for every single possible scenario it's still a bit difficult to prepare.

The basic and simple fact is. Your side lost the arguement!

The libdems, SNP were Remain.

The tories were Leave.

Labour were renegotiate a deal then put it to a 2nd Peoples vote. Corbyn is on record as being "neutral"

Your claim is fundamentally flawed. Labour were not officially Remain , individual MPs were definitely Remain, but your claim is wrong.

HOWEVER, for comedy value, I'll actually go along with your claim that labour were Remain. Ok !? I'm agreeing with you. So let's park that ok!?

So, in answering your question-

"More votes went to parties that supported remain? Yes or no.?"

I'll say - YES! Yes , Remain received more votes.

Now, you answer this question.

Given that at 23.01 on 31st January 2020 the UK will have officially left the EU. It doesn't make a blind bit of difference does it.

Britain is a nation of sheep, Ringo. Millions shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a polling booth but as a democrat I live with it.
Millions of working class men have voted leave and have bitten on the big con. The tories hate the EU because it is fundamentally left wing and looks after the working man and tries to give a level playing field. They detest that. As you say we live in a democracy and have to live with it but that doesn’t make it correct. It was an atrocious decision that will cost the working class for decades to come. The Lords defying the government over the WA bill,https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51184051

I'm sure the Conservatives will attempt to assert the HOC authority when the bill returns there. That's the difference an 80 seat majority now makes.

I note Jeremy Corbyn is trying to nominate John Bercow for a peerage, even though Mr Bercow isn't a Labour party member, this shows how outdated this system is,and shows Labour as hypocrites after their outcry over Zac Goldsmith's elevation to the Lords.

Not sure the hypocrisy angle works here.

Goldsmith attacked the HoL's - “Seedy lists of party apparatchiks appointed by power hungry party leaders & insulated from any democratic pressure for 15 yrs?” “No thanks.”

He was then rejected as an MP by the public in an election before being compensated by his power hungry party leader with a peerage which is suddenly an honorable role for him

On the other hand Bercow has expressed a desire to continue his political career in the HoL's and was not defeated by the public but retired after a highly successful career

Say and think what you like about the whole peerage system and the politics involved but the two examples are very different

You're stretching a point to say that Bercow was highly successful. He managed to stay in a job for a long time, and "earned" himself an absoulte truckload of money, but if you want to say he was actually good at the job, you'll find a lot of argument.

As you say
we live in a democracy and have to live with it but that doesn’t make it correct.
It was an atrocious decision that will cost the working class for decades to come. Sajid Khan has come out this morning and said business better get ready for the pain.

You're clearly a special kind of "democrat" Trevor. A North Korean kind of "democrat" eh!?

And you think you know what's best for millions of working class men, more than millions of working class men know what's best for them!?

You don't.

Haha! Back to your special kind of "democracy" eh Trevor! The kind of democracy that's only "correct" if your side win!

Youre still not absorbing the simple plain truth about democracy Trevor!

It means sometimes you lose.

Get over it.

No, not at the moment, but you need to move on Ringo, you’re a broken record. You can’t keep living in the past.
The past !? Me!?

We are leaving - that’s the past.
The mess we make of it - that’s the future.

You seem to be having trouble understanding tense!

I understand why you voted Remain now!

At least you've accepted you lost and we're leaving. But stop sounding so pessimistic.

The futures bright.!

Dependent on the deal of course. We may have pretty much "left" but we're still a long way from getting Brexit done.

You really are a special right wing loony, Ringo. You highlight a phrase where I’ve said I’m a democrat and twist that against me. End of conversation. I’d get more sense out of the wall.

I would have thought a hardcore labour man like yourself would be delighted that we are going to curb low skilled migration. The benefits are obvious to a man of your political ilk, protect the british workers jobs and no suppression of wages.

Let’s be honest why would a company employ John who is moaning about doing overtime to cover a colleagues shift and may not exactly be motivated on £8.50 an hour when Pawel will work 70hours a week and be delighted?
