Fire in Padiham
A flat above an Art Shop in Padiham has been in a major fire. There are rumours that there was someone in the building at the time.

Re: Fire in Padiham
I think it's the one that's having a new roof. Hope it's not related to this work.

Re: Fire in Padiham
Looked a big blaze but seemed to be confined to the first floor although there will be smoke and water damage to the bottom floor. Several people have mentioned the roof was being repaired this afternoon and blow torches were seen being used.

The builders could be in trouble if it is found to be their negligence?

Re: Fire in Padiham
That is what i would normally think but with this being an art shop and studio I don't see the point in destroying all your work. The time, effort and care that has gone into producing it.thelifeofbrian wrote:Insurance Job

Let's just hope Harry Garlicks hasn't suffered any damage, it took them quite sometime to get over the floods.

Re: Fire in Padiham
I love the interviews of random passers by.
Does it really add to the story to be told the flames got bigger and bigger?
Insurance scam?

Re: Fire in Padiham
They've now arrested a 52 year old bloke on suspicion of arson.
Hope that "arson" is allowed on here.
PS CC called it here first - very good lad, give out the rulers.
