HUNTED! Channel 4
Anyone else watch this?..another episode just finished.
Call me simple and easily pleased but I love it
Ten people on the run initially, now only four left..two sets of lads [including a pair of brothers]
Final episode next Thursday - if they evade capture they're picking up quite a bit of ££££££
Bring it on!..

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
All the other seasons are on 4od if you haven’t seen them.
If you like this then I recommend watching Alone -
Reality series that put contestants in remote places and have them fend for themselves have been done before, but "Alone" is more extreme than previous efforts, according to producers, who call it the boldest and longest survival experiment on TV. In the 10-episode season, 10 survivalists are placed in the Vancouver Island wilderness alone -- with no camera crew or producers -- and given the simple mission of staying alive, with a big reward -- $500,000 -- given to the contestant who lasts the longest while battling mental obstacles like extreme isolation and psychological distress.

I always wonder about the cameramen on Hunted, surely they don't work 24/7 for the month, or however long it is filmed, if not they must know where they need to send their replacements to.

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
One of the ex contestants said it’s a lot shadier than it looks - the producers (who i’m guessing are the cameramen too) are constantly telling the participants to do stuff or they’ll give hunters clues etc ....yorkyclaret wrote:I always wonder about the cameramen on Hunted, surely they don't work 24/7 for the month, or however long it is filmed, if not they must know where they need to send their replacements to.
There was a contestant who did he had a do at the cameraman for pushing him too much and suddenly at us next stop the hunters were there.

I’ll admit to being a fan but definitely stuff going on behind the scenes that makes aspects of the show dubious. I’m guess I’m easily duped........ I used to like the X-factor

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
Isn't it funny how people say "its fake", "its staged"....
but they then go and watch things like game of thrones and don't shutup about it.
Odd.

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
Final episode is on in 10 minutes..i hope the two young brothers win it, they are good lads and have had a hard time in life recently.
The other lads are up for it as well.
The finale will be in Birmingham City Centre - if the fugitives can get to the helicopter on the Bull Ring's shopping centre roof, before the hunter's, they will win a share of £100,000..

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
I've been watching it. Light entertainment I guess.
As for whether it's fake or not. It obviously is. They can't look at phone records, use number plate recognition or use CCTV..so its acted out for the show... there's not much left!
You could sleep in somebody's attic for 4 weeks and they wouldn't have a clue where you were.

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
Tells you in the opening credits that some state powers like number plate recognition are replicated, thought the 'guesswork' to find the extraction point was a bit unbelievable. THey knew it was Birmingham, they knew it was a Helicopter, they never checked the Airport.

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
The phrase that comes to mind I think, is that 'we should suspend our disbelief' just as we would do if we were watching some modern science fiction film or check out some of the special effects in say the Harry Potter films..thousands of examples of this why does it even 'need' explaining...loads of fake stuff on TV, or in film, it has to be there or the thing wouldn't be worth watching.
13..FactualFrank..'You could sleep in somebody's attic for 4 weeks and they wouldn't have a clue where you were..'
Well of course they could but would you watch it..would anyone?
It wouldn't make great TV would it?
Decent finale tonight, good escapist stuff - they all got caught and no one won any money

I think this was pre-determined and time defined. If there was ten grand at stake I'd occupy a hospital trolley and decide when to make the call and where it would collect me.

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
I watch it with the missus and whilst I enjoy it spend the whole hour annoying her by Pointing out that all obvious flaws like
the biggest giveaway must be having a camera man on your tail all the time ... I mean the guy is changing his top with a helicopter overhead ... the bloke with the camera might be the giveaway
There was a long shot tonight of straight brother running into a market hall ie the camera was already in the hall as he ran in....
If the black lad had taken the 4K there would be no finish as they could have simply waited on top of car park
They have all this incredible surveillance but had to rely on some car park attendant to tell em edgbaston car park had helipad 10 mins before pickup ..if found out any earlier wld have been no ending as mentioned
Realised I’m turning into my dad who was always going on about microphone wires in films and continuity blunders

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
I think they're not allowed more than one night somewhere, so have to keep moving.
That said, there are some basic mistakes made by the people being chased. If the guy who was caught hadn't written "1 pm Birm", then they wouldn't have had a clue where or when the extraction point was going to be...!
really wanted the brothers to succeed..and he came so close. Should have ditched his jumper and got some running shoes on, too!

Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
The local lad who was in the army and was caught in episode 4 was actually best man at my bosses wedding, so I sort of knew what the outcomes were likely to be.
A couple of things though which came to light whilst nattering about the program.
1/ its always nagged me why people don't write their plans down on a piece of paper which can then be destroyed prior to m when they leave the house, thus leaving no trace of their plans. It's a contractual agreement that a device is "left behind" so information can be gleened from it.
2/ Also when an apparent cold trail all of a sudden reignites as if by magic. This is due to a referee being part of each group of absconders. If their whereabouts are becoming increasingly difficult to track an adjudicator steps in and narrows the search area down for the Hunted team!
I thought the end to last night's series was pathetic to be fair and set the scene for the contestants to fail. How many heliports are there in Birmingham city centre? They could basically position one team of Hunters at each one and still have the exact same outcome!

Do you mean Matt from Devon and in the Royal Marines?THEWELLERNUT70 wrote:The local lad who was in the army
Interesting if you chatted to him and he shared that info, but it makes sense, as they'd find hardly any of them if it was all true.

Edt for a response that came across on reading back as being sarcastic
Re: HUNTED! Channel 4
It wasn't that good. Total disappointment and cheated the contestants and the viewers. It was soo staged and no way anyone could get past the top floor of the car park to the helicopter. And the false cheers and smug smiles from the team when they caught the last brother just wound me up. I realise it's entertainment and has to be played out right to the last minute but whoever wrote the script for it, got it completely wrong.THEWELLERNUT70 wrote: I thought the end to last night's series was pathetic to be fair and set the scene for the contestants to fail.
