Villa still paying Micha Richards a wage .Perhaps John Terry can turn him into a decent centre half.

They were lucky with their second goal. The keeper looked to have both hands on it.

Villa look miles away from promotion despite paying lots of high wages to once decent players and overrated Abraham they still look very poor and not a team

Would be bloody marvellous if the Dirty Weeds took over from Derby & bottled it.

I think we were, but I don't know when. And I can't be bothered to look it up on a Friday night at 25 past nine. 8-)

Goalkeeper getting berated by one of his players, must be really annoying when you score 3 goals and watch your keeper give it away.

3-3, from 3.0 up, this is precisely why Leeds will get promoted.

Tomorrow Leeds could extend their poor league run to 5 defeats in 7 games. They’ll still be in the top 2.

The Championship is poor. I don’t know that the lowest ever points total for a 2nd placed team is, but it might not take much more than 80 points to clinch automatic promotion this time.

Since its inauguration in 2004/5 only two teams have finished in second place with 79 points and they were Stoke City in 2007/8 and Hul City in 2012/13.

You have to go back to the period between 1994 adn 1997 when three teams finished in 2nd place with a similar number of points --Reading and Derby both 79 and Barnsley with 80.

Definitely a race to the middle for the championship this season. Usually at least one or two breakaway outfits that are clearly a level above the rest.

Not sure if it’s just the lack of Ruben Neves and Wolves but feels like the standard has dropped a touch this year.

Newcastle garnered 102 points in 2009-10,and lost only 4 games, not sure about anyone else scoring a century, other than Leicester in our 2nd promotion campaign.

Yes, initially that's what I thought. But Sharpe started his lunge for the ball as it was dropping into
the keepers hands. Very difficult for the officials.

I think Reading and maybe Bolton have broken the 100 point barrier too.

Tammy Abraham trying to stop the ball crossing the line from the first row of the stand for the first was a particular favourite.

Fair play to Billy Sharp, he's still banging in the goals. From memory, Laws was trying to sign him after relegation in 2010 but he opted to go to Doncaster having been on loan there. We brought in Iwelumo instead.

As everyone else no doubt thought!

Imagine it was like backing Devon Loch and pledging the winnings after the last fence

Hadn’t we already signed Iwelumo at that point?

You could be right, I think Laws was going for the classic little and large partnership.

Remember the Reading fans singing "106,106 ,we hold the record, 106" when we played there in the last game of the first promotion season under Dyche. The game with their comedy "celebration" pitch invasion at the end.

I think he'd just had a house built and his wife didn't want to move. Sharp that is.

That worked out well for him, still being in the Championship after all these years.
