We did hit the bar twice, so not that lucky.Rileybobs wrote:Incredible that given our run of poor decisions we get all of our luck in one game. And what a game to get it in!!!
2 penalties in 2 games?duncandisorderly wrote:Is no one going to mention it?
Not lucky to win the game generally but a key decision at 2-0 really could have taken the game to 2-1 rather than 3-0 and that would have made for a very uncomfortable ending.nil_desperandum wrote:We did hit the bar twice, so not that lucky.
No we won, so we're all being gentlemanly.duncandisorderly wrote:Is no one going to mention it?
hughton, not houghton.....I know it's so neither here nor there, but....there it is!FactualFrank wrote:2 penalties in 2 games?
Sure, but your post "all our luck" suggests everything went our way.Rileybobs wrote:Not lucky to win the game generally but a key decision at 2-0 really could have taken the game to 2-1 rather than 3-0 and that would have made for a very uncomfortable ending.
agreed, very fair post match interview.Vegas Claret wrote:He was pretty gracious in his interview, obviously not happy about the pen (neither would we) but said we did well
Yeah, you don't get one for 67 games and then you get one in each of your next 67 games. That's how it works, right?FactualFrank wrote:2 penalties in 2 games?
That’s not how it was supposed to come across. I meant rather than the odd decision starting to go our way we have two stonewall penalties not given against us, one of the decisions lead to our 3rd goal. We weren’t lucky to win today but we got very lucky with 2 key decisions.nil_desperandum wrote:Sure, but your post "all our luck" suggests everything went our way.
The first certainly wasn't a stone wall - in fact it wasn't a penalty - the second clearly was.Rileybobs wrote:That’s not how it was supposed to come across. I thought that McNeill extending his arm and blocking a goal-bound shot was worthy of a penalty. The problem is the hand ball law is basically interpreted how referees want to interpret it.taio wrote:The first certainly wasn't a stone wall - in fact it wasn't a penalty - the second clearly was.
I realised when I posted it,but Could't be @rsed to change it..duncandisorderly wrote:hughton, not houghton.....I know it's so neither here nor there, but....there it is!
They play in a very similar way to us, especially when Murray plays. We just seem to do it better.Steve1956 wrote:Was "they play a certain way" a sly dig at us ...again?
Disagree. McNeill was about 20 cm away and whilst his arm wasn't by his side it wasn't in an unnatural position. And he certainly wasn't looking at the ball.Rileybobs wrote:I thought that McNeill extending his arm and blocking a goal-bound shot was worthy of a penalty. Probably, Steve.Steve1956 wrote:Was "they play a certain way" a sly dig at us ...again?
