That decision from the officials was as bad as last week.
I’m convinced they want VAR and are doing their best to force it.

Obviously become aware that there was a potential pen for Brighton but was at the far end so generally thought he had a decent game.

Re: RATE THE REF - Stuart Attwell v Brighton
To make a serious point, though I can't "rate" as I wasn't at the game:
I've now watched the game twice, (+MOTD), and thought he had a very good game. Indeed most of his recent performances for us have been good.
His only real blemish was the Hendrick "penalty" which Brighton fans and Hughton are justifiably unhappy about. However, having watched it several times, I really don't think that Attwell could have given it without making a huge guess. Hendrick clearly has his back to him, so he couldn't have been sure what part of his anatomy re-directed the ball. Key decisions shouldn't be taken purely on guesswork and probability.
As has frequently been the case in recent incidents, (not just those affecting us) it was the assistant who was to blame. He had a good view of it and like last week's assistant at Turf Moor he failed to raise his flag and do what he is paid to do. (i.e. "assist" the referee).

Re: RATE THE REF - Stuart Attwell v Brighton
It’s all very well talking VAR again and we got away with the Hendrick one...
However, Peter Walton doing his VAR audition had the one in the first half (handball by McNeil) as absolutely nailed on. Not sure that VAR would give that one myself and there lies the problem because it could not be proved to be intentional, his arms were in a natural position and to cap it all he had his back to it... All this and the ex ref genius can’t believe it’s not been given....
As for Attwell

Can’t be full marks as they got a couple of very soft decisions in the first half that could have lead to goals.

Wasn't Walton the ex-referee who said last week that Zaha was right to be punished for his sarcastic applauding but there was nothing wrong with Ashley Barnes going crazy at the non-penalty award last week? Always a bad referee was Walton.
