Wolves V Newcastle
Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Rafa fuming. I would be too. Hopefully this has a negative effect on confidence.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Yet another stoppage time goal, they're coming thick and fast this season, would have preferred a Wolves win obviously, but that's 2 vital points dropped by the Geordies.

That will feel like a lose to them now they will be on the floor with that

I’d be upset with the extra tick-tocks, but the calls have gone our way this week, (for once).Bordeauxclaret wrote:Benitez looked like he was on the verge of a heart attack there.

Newcastle's new signing looked good the brief time we saw him.

Quality referee.I thought Wolves were going to let us down. They look poor at present.
Re: Wolves V Newcastle
The 3 above the relegation I can’t see going. Us, Newcastle and Cardiff. The fans, players and manager all seem together at those clubs.
Id be worried if I was a Brighton fan.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Kluivert moaning about the extra time played, well if Benitez hadn't made a sub dead on 90 minutes to try and run the clock down they'd probably have three points but by the time Wolves finally kicked off after the stoppage a full minute had elapsed.
Tough luck Geordies.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Newcastle played well there, very organised and composed- until that last attack. I'd have sympathy for them normally but not given our position. Ref played a lot of extra on the extra too.
Newcastle's keeper definitely should've done better on that goal, I recall he let a fairly soft late goal in from a Son shot v Spurs in their last game -so they lost 1-0.
Wolves seemed a bit below par- lacking any urgency until near the end, just tippy/tapping about and taking no risks.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Just watching the pundits analysing the late goal and still unclear if a foul on the keeper.
How would VAR have solved that and fans may have been waiting several minutes to find out what the result was.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Don’t know what all the fuss is about the additional time added on over above the 4 mins? Board put up on 90 mins showing 4 mins added time. Rafa then makes another sub in added time. Ref adds on another minute for the time taken to do the substitution. Listened to numb nuts Kluivert + Carragher go on about playing more than 4 mins. They have selective blindness as usual.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Definitely not a foul Dave. Certainly not ‘clear and obvious’. The thing is, the blame will rightly go to Dubravka. It’s a bad error for a pro to make but those poorly hit crosses are a nightmare to grasp under the bar. He should’ve punched. He didn’t do anything in the end!

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Last season was an incredibly low points tally for 7th place (<1.5 pts per game) and this season looks like being similar.
Quite weird that if we had got those decisions against Utd, Southampton and Watford we would have been only 6 points behind Wolves (certainly the two games where the bad decision was in the last minute). We’re too far adrift now but yet again it seems no side wants to finish 7th.

I think you could names in a hat really will be lots of twists & turns like tonight, I’d feel sorry for warnock if Cardiff went down I don’t think he’s ever kept a club in the top flight before & been unlucky with the tevez incident & now the sala incident, obviously not at our expense.

Dubravka badly at fault. He’s actually coming down from his highpoint when Boly heads it.
Totally mistimed his leap.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
We could do with Leicester picking up some form, they have Palace and Brighton up next, both at the King Power, but that's exactly the kind of games they have ballsed up this season,Cardiff won there,as did Southampton,we got a draw,so if i was a Leicester fan i'd be worried, there is clearly an issue between Puel and Vardy, now if this unrest spreads to the other members of the squad, they could get dragged into trouble.Dyched wrote:Yep!!

based on the fight teams like us are showing, Swansea didn't have an ounce of fight in them - I do however hope you are right you optimistic sod !Spijed wrote:Based on what evidence?
The team in 18th last season had 24 pts, the same as this. Swansea got relegated on 33 pts.

Re: Wolves V Newcastle
Leicester have a very tough last 3 games but have 32 points already and have Palace Home & Brighton Home for their next 2 matches. They also still have Fulham home and Hudd away to come. It'd be surprising if they didnt pass 40 before that tough last few games.
I'm still hoping Brighton continue to sink. I dont like the club + I had a bet pre-season that they'd go down (albeit shorter odds than now being offered -ridiculously)
Southampton look to have the worst set of fixtures to come and maybe now lost that new manager bounce they had for a while- looking tough for them.
I find the relegation betting odd though, Hudd/Fulham clear favourites but then: Cardiff 4/5, us 10/3, Saints 9/2, Newc 7/1, Brighton 8/1.

Yes, the Brighton odds are very strange, and far too generous.LeadBelly wrote:Leicester have a very tough last 3 games but have 32 points already and have Palace Home & Brighton Home for their next 2 matches. Re: Wolves V Newcastle
No question we dodged a bullet with Wolves late equalizer, our luck seems to be changing in our favour. We got a long due penalty against Southampton to salvage a point, a couple of decisions went our way vs Brighton. Southampton’s new boss surge should be coming to an end and Cardiff are running on emotion, that can’t last long. Gotta hand it to Warnock though, he’s done a magnificent job there. I’m quietly optimistic about PL survival, although that pesky goals against could be a problem……..damn Joe Hart!

Well, we now know SD's main attacking strategy against Newcastle. Right lads who can launch it higher than St Peters and land it in the six yard box.

I think Wolves will take 7th spot they are very good on the counter when alls going well for them.
It will be interesting how they go about it and manage in the EPL but with the money They have its no comparison really they will have a massive head start on were we entered it and have champion league pedigree players.
