If this is your kind of thing, its pretty good.

But the surviving crewman they interviewed looks amazing for 94 as well.

“When they left, we were dead in the water," Nowatzki said. "They used armor piercing bombs, now when they come down, you hear 'em going through the decks … plink, plink, plink, plink … and then when they explode the whole ship shakes."

The excitement and terror of Naval Warfare distilled in two ordinary sentences.

Not sure we'd reach the 94th minute!

No probs John Mac

Just hoping that the death of Paul Allen doesn't stop this lot finding more ships from the war.

Slightly different theatre and convoluted story line but I just finished watching Das Boot and I'm also reading a book about the Arctic convoys at the moment.

Regardless of affiliation, anyone serving on or below the waves during WW2 is worthy of the utmost respect.

No probs. I think in the last couple of years they have found the HMIJN Musashi and the HMIJN Hiei as well, plus others.

All fascinating when they appear on the camera that deep down

Logged in to like this. What a story. I served on a frigate 20 odd years ago for 2 months as part of an exchange whilst I was in the RAF. I can’t imagine what it must have been like.

The most impressive, to me, warship found was Bismarck, mainly because it was positioned upright on the sea bed, although the turrets had fallen and the higher structures were gone. Most noticeable were the big swastikas painted on the deck (for aerial identification).
