Brilliant in "Downfall" and of course, the best parodies memes ever.

RIP and those parodies will have made him better known and he did nothing to achieve that.

Do you mean APART from his outstanding performance in this?

The reason there are so many parodies of this is purely down to this excellent performance, and career defining moment. .

RIP

I'm sure he had a sense of humour about all the footie jokes and loved them too.

Can't claim to have seen many films he's been in but agree he was excellent in Downfall.

Somehow making human and evoking a modicum of pity towards one of the 20th Century’s biggest Monsters is a remarkable achievement in his craft. Downfall was a hard, hard watch, but his performance(and that of a fine supporting cast) made it worth the investment.

An American Friend with Dennis Hopper and directed by Wim Wenders is a wonderful film. Bruno Ganz made so many films and was working on several projects when he died. He’d just finished the latest Terrence Malick film. A great actor.

RIP.

Finally got around to watching Downfall today. It’s on netflix for those who care.
A fine film made more interesting because the secretary, whos book it was partly based on, I have seen interviewed many times on tv.
RIP Bruno

American Friend is one of my most favourite movies. Wim Wenders I’m a huge fan of. If anyone wants a movie to watch I’d recommend checking out his stuff. Especially Paris, Texas
