We could be safe by next Saturday Evening

Not mathematically I know, but 6pts from Newcastle and Palace and Saints and Cardiff lose, I cannot see us being caught

Steady.

This team ought to be too good to go down, and it looks too focused for now, but one game at a time. Those are both tough games.

One game at a time. That’s always worked for us, under Dyche.

Today's result will have broken a lot of hearts of rival supporters. Nearly there I feel.

Is anyone gonna make the big claim that we won't lose again this season?

Who said it back in 2015?

Palace and Cardiff huge games, win these two and we're as good as safe imo, and you could also throw in avoid defeat at Newcastle. A win for the gooners against the saints and i guess it would be mathematically sure, but one game at a time.

It's getting to the point where those last four games are becoming irrelevant.

Cardiff have pretty tough remaining games. I can’t see them getting more than 35 points.

Hudds are gone, Fulham almost. Cardiff's confidence will be on the floor after last night.

We'll be fine.

You knew Huddersfield were gone when Big Sam ruled himself out saying he couldn't save them.

The Tottenham result has certainly given us valuable breathing space, but we can't be complacent yet,the Newcastle and Palace games aren't gimme's by any means.

Only a couple behind Leicester. Thankfully we won't be getting a Europe league spot, it is the last the thing other than relegation we need

I meant IF we get 6 points from the next 2 games and Saints and Cardiff lose, and didn't say this would happen.
Cardiff would then be 11 points behind us with an inferior GD with 9 games to go. I don't think the result of our home game with them would be that significant.

Leave counting chickens to that lot over at Bollywood.
I'd be happy with three points, or maybe draws from the next couple of games.

Currently at Heathrow waiting for my flight back - great game to catch, what a lucky pick!

Too many points counters on here. While in the UK I was struck by the radio advert for teachers, where the girl talks about her teacher telling her “to think big, and if you can think big, think bigger...” love that! And we should apply it, not count points to safety

Two really tough fixtures coming up against teams equally as determined to stay up. Tuesday first and looking no further than that is sensible.

Exactly the Geordies have 10 points from 15,and have beaten Man City in that run,i would happily take a draw,if they beat us they go above us,shows we can't get carried away just yet,Southampton have Fulham at home midweek you'd expect them to gain 3 points there, some tough fixtures to come after that for them though.

Don’t think CP and Cardiff are a given. They both have decent records ont’Turf and we haven't managed to beat Udders, Newcastle or Southampton, at home.

If our form over the last 8 games is replicated for the rest of the season we’d finish on 55 points.

Anyone starting to save for another European adventure just in case...haha.

The Spurs win just now means that the games Vs Newcastle and Palace are now just “don’t lose” matches rather than “must win” matches.
While points vs the bigger teams like Spurs yesterday are immense and great for the fans you always ideally want wins from teams around you.
It’s all good at the moment but as quick as we’ve got out of the mire we can slip back into it if you think you’ve done enough. It’s been a magnificent run......

Nice bit of ambition there. Let’s send a letter to the PL telling them to forget us for Europe. We’ll just keep happy with mid table mediocrity (till we get bored).

Europe was a disaster with the July start, travelling and our small squad. Burnley is not geared up for European football we don't have the financial resources to support it.
Glad when we went out, if we had of progressed we would be in a right mess now.
It is not lack of ambition it is reality

I never did believe we were in relegation danger even before this run started, also I have no fear of getting into Europe again either.

Should Rangers also qualify for Europe and we drew each other it would be great to welcome Scotty back to Burnley again.

40 points asap then think about where we can finish after that.

2-3 wins will see us safe, or equivalent. 38 is my magic number but it will be less this year. Huddersfield will be lucky to make 20. Fulham I always feel could mount a late charge but every week they just collapse.

You've got to wonder if Huddersfield will stay on 11 points, thus equalling Derby as the crappiest PL team ever.

Just look at Cardiff remaining fixtures, add up the points they are likely to get, you will revise the safety target, it's lower than you think

from 7th only happened because of someone winning the Community shield or something didn't it? I can't remember.

We should remember that for every place we finish higher than the one below, £ 2,200,000 is at stake. In addition, it's money in our " Dry powder store " or whatever you want to call it, and not in one of our competitors !!

More chance of Jacob Rees-Mogg saying that leaving the EU will be a disaster than requiring 40 points fore safety.

Not only did I say we wouldn’t lose I also said how many we would win or draw and predicted the final points total of 93.
