Michael Duff

Post by welsbyswife » Sat Feb 23, 2019 7:26 pm

Great to see another good win for Cheltenham today. Duffer really has turned things around nicely down there after a tricky start. With the likes of Campbell and Scholes he will never get much attention in that division but he won't mind that. Long may his good run continue.

They should be safe now which was far from certain when he took over. Could have gone badly wrong and then you wonder if he would get another chance because he isn't a big name. So all the more pleasing if he can keep it going.

I think he’ll have a good career as a Manager.

As folk move on from Turf Moor in various capacities, we will see lots of 'mini Burnleys' springing up all over the place, such is the influence of Dyche's regime.

Record so far is W9 D7 L11 in the league with I think 6 losses during his first in first 12 games

Fourth in the form table over the last six matches, their home form has been particularly strong, six wins from the last eight.

He's done very well because they were in a difficult position when he took over. Barton is doing very well at Fleetwood too.

Just as a side note, noticed Luke Hendrie got an equaliser for 10-man Grimsby at Swindon yesterday. Michael Jolley seems to be doing well there.

I think they're both doing great jobs, Grimsby and Cheltenham both finished only 5 points clear of the dreaded drop into " Non League " last year, and they're 17 & 11 points clear respectively with 12 games to go ... Jolley had a tough start, with one of his main summer signings getting a long term injury almost immediately, but Grimsby are 2nd & Cheltenham 4th in the form table, based on the last 6 games ...

Fleetwood, under Joey Barton, moved to within 4 points of the play offs with a win at Burton yesterday, whilst Derek Adams has really turned Plymouth's fortunes around after a dreadful start ( 3 pts from the first 10 games ), moving 7 points clear of the drop with a 5 - 1 demolition of Rochdale...

Koiki put the cross in for Swindons goal.
Editted: no he didn’t, he put a beauty on Robinsons head but Robinson hit the post.

Didn't Adams have a similar season last year as well? Think I am right in saying they were in the relegation places or just above around Christmas time, then went on a storming, title winning form in the second half of the season and just missed out on the play offs.

Two years running, maybe Plymouth need to replace Adams for the first three months of the season and then put him back in charge. :D

Duff had a very difficult start at Cheltenham and they dropped into the bottom two at one point. But he's turned things round and they are well clear now. He did lose last week though in the game between our former U23 managers - result was Jolley 1 Duff 0.

Watched the Cheltenham goal against Yeovil on midlands news last night. It came from the corner routine involving Duff and JayRod that Eddie Howe introduced at Burnley.
