And the subject of an amazing interview a few years ago. They were asking passers by if they remembered a game v Everton in the 60s. Bloke says I do yes, I played in it. Really what's your name. Tommy Lawrence was the reply.

After Sprake let the Chelsea cup final equaliser in we were out and some wag comes running up. “Have you heard about Gary Sprake? Through himself in front of a bus, it went under him.”
An old one now but it was the first time I’d heard it.

I thought “no hands” might have been Alan Stevenson as he a habit of raising his hands as the ball whistled past him (not in the net but over the bar etc!) as though as to say “I had it covered” when clearly he hadn’t.Fine keeper though & a long serving Claret!

Can’t believe we’ve not had a shout for ‘Calamity’ yet.

Remember that mental idea where Pearce let him play outfield for City? What a plonker.

Never saw him play but, apparently, he wore all black and was a bit special.

Yes, Thomson was the name that rings a bell with me.

We should update this now to Heaton
