They will want a more high profile figure than Sean Dyche.

We may be on a good run, but Leicester are higher in the league than us on the day they’ve sacked their manager.

That surprise Premier League win has been a millstone around the neck of Leicester City Managers ever since. I wonder how long the effect of this will be felt?

We keep saying that, but sooner or later it won't be true anymore. And Claude Puel was hardly a high-profile choice.

There’s the unwritten rule that managers don’t leave one PL club for another during a season so I wouldn’t be concerned about Dyche for the meantime. Not sure whether Leicester will put a caretaker in charge until the end of the season or look to replace Puel immediately.

As for Dyche, Leicester would be a step up but he would be 6 poor results away from the sack. Not sure that would appeal to him considering his comfortable position and very competitive salary.

Wasn't Wagner (ex Huddersfield) linked when he left?

Hopefully Brendan Flood hasn’t got Dyche’s phone number.

I agree with Beamish here- LCFC (owners/fans) have adjusted their expectations too far upwards after their hugely successful/ surprise season.
Nothing wrong with aiming high but to get into sacking managers for "only" being mid-table seems hasty.
It's true that they are on a very bad run (1 point in the last 5 games is equal with Brighton and just above Huddersfield at the bottom of the "last 5" league); but they have Brighton and Fulham as their next 2 home games so hardly panic stations.

Didn't help himself with the baffling decisions to field weakened teams in the Cups. Since the Newport defeat in January they've been awful.

8th is as high as they can aspire.
More likely to drop further, if they remain deluded!

That decision was bizarre, given they should be comfortably mid-table,the cups were a real chance of glory, can't be coincidence the players have sulked ever since especially Vardy.

In the League Cup if they'd have beaten a half strength City at home in the quarters they'd have got Burton in the semis and could have been looking forward to a winnable final against Chelsea today. Especially after what happened to their Chairman I'm sure there fans and players were wanting to have a real go at winning a cup for him.

Dyche second favourite. Puel didn’t suit his players with his slow build up, a more direct style again could suit them. Saying that though, Sean’s pragmatism may not sit well with LCFC fans now they have tasted glory. Touch and go whether he would get it.

Four managers in four years or thereabouts. Dyche wouldn't touch it with a shitty stick.

Depends how much expectation the Leicester fans have,i can't see them being higher than 8th/9th no matter who takes the reins,as someone pointed out they have 2 winnable home games 6 points from those and they could be looking at a top 10 finish,i'd be surprised at Sean taking a stab on Leicester just now,but i could be wrong.

I like Puels football but the fans at Saints & Foxes have given him a big thumbs down.
Not the job for SD. Papers have been linking Rogers and Rafa all week.
Clearly not working using Vardy as an up top CF, he has so much more to his game. His biggest asset is his pace which is nullified up there.

It's safe to say Dyche would be out of a job within a year at Leicester as they would expect instant success

I quite like Claude Puel, I think he's been given a rough deal at both Southampton and now Leicester where he's actually done very respectable jobs.

That said though it can't be a coincidence that both sets of fans have been glad to see the back of him.

Leicester fans were complaining on 606 last night that Puel didn’t have a plan B and they were sick of him trying route 1 straight up to Vardy.

Leicester seem to have been riddled with vying factions since the title win. They need someone who will give the whole place a spring clean, but the fans won't allow it (want instant results). It would not surprise me if they slipped into the dog fight this season (if they are not already classing themselves in it) and unless the mentality of the place changes see it becoming a tale of long term decline from the very summit.

Unwritten rule .... didn't stop Bolton in 2009 :(

Or did that not actually happen because it was 10 years ago.....

No chance that Leicester would even consider Dyche. The fans certainly won't want him, they won't like his style of play.
Burnley is has good as it gets for Dyche in the Premier league and he knows it.

Well put sir! If Ranieri had finish mid-table, which was realistically as high as one could expect, would he still be there and the manager merry go round wouldn’t exist? Sure, the owners are ambitious, nothing wrong with that, but Leicester aren’t going to attract the top players they’d need to put pressure on the current big 6.

Don't think it is as simple as that tbh. Money talks look at Rovers, Shearer turned down United to go there...
Leicester's problems involve fans wanting it NOW, factions within the staff from players up... when Peter Schmeichel is publicly outing problems as far as Kasper is concerned (not the first time he's been involved in player dissent) a budget of a trillion isn't going to fix it there, especially as the fans wouldn't give the manager time for all the incoming megastars to land before kicking up a fuss.

It needs a chairman with a spine who turns around and says "Beggar it, this is going to be rough but I need to let this man do what needs doing here." Dare I say it we have been incredibly lucky in that department. It's time all the plaudits going around about BFC include the people truly steering the ship

I thought Shearer turned down Man Utd to go to Newcastle?
He turned them down a few times when he was there too I think.

Should be a written rule, like it is in La Liga, quite frankly. I don't think for one second however, that either a) Dyche wants it or b) the Leicester fraternity want him. Brendan Rogers would almost certainly fancy his chances.

Prince Harry? Or even Megan?

I often visit Leicester and quite a few of my associates, who support Leicester would like Dyche. But it looks like Rodgers is the one they want. But why would he go?

After winning the Premier League expectations are high and the job is something of a poison chalice.

A new challenge? He isn't going to achieve anymore at Celtic now. Haven't got the money to compete in Europe and with Rangers starting to get their act together he might think it's a good time to leave.

Surprised this is happening now to be honest, thought if they had a chance of getting Rodgers they would have to wait until the summer. If he takes the job he'll need to be careful not to upset the established senior players or he'll soon be gone.

Just spoke to a Celtic fan in the office - apparently Rodgers been itching to leave after a bust up in the board room where they wont finance getting further in European comps - he's convinced he'll go.
