Be handy to hear from Ken Anderson now on these claims from Bassini.

Bolton’s game against Brentford, which should have been played last Saturday, has now been scrapped with Brentford being awarded a 1-0 win.

I don't recall any announcement saying as much, but I suppose it hasn't happened too much recently.
Re: Bolton
According to Sky it’s the club’s own Safety Advisory Grouo that has called the match off as they couldn’t guarantee the personnel required in the stadium to keep it safe (I assume they mean stewards). Guess whoever does the stewarding at Bolton wouldn’t be that confident in getting paid for it so has decided not to bother.

Been trying hard to work this one out but it's taxing my very limited brainpower as it's become a poor man's Brexit.
Bassini says he'll be in the Directors' Box at Forest tomorrow!
It's a first - I believe - for a game to be pulled. The Bolton News BWFC journo says that could result in an eight-point deduction.
" It is the first fixture in EFL history cancelled in such a fashion and is likely to land Wanderers with a points deduction next season which could be placed upon the 12-point penalty accompanying a potential insolvency event.
Some reports yesterday predicted another EIGHT points could be added to those deducted for administration, meaning Wanderers could be starting life in League One with minus 20."
https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... y-weekend/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't know whether the first-team players are turning out tomorrow. I suspect their legal advisors will tell them they should.
Ther's a court hearing on Wednesday. Quite who will be attending I don't know. Not sure whether the judge won't decide to cancel it and order a "1-0" win to HMRC.

Nothing will be done at the next hearing.
Nobody will stick their heads above the wall and make a decision.
Everyone is scared to make a decision in case they get sued by another party.
Thanks to the rotten system the wide boys and crooks get away running from debt and no doubt leave the bill to be picked up by HMRC, suppliers and other trusting employees.

Re: Bolton
Well, Bolton have got most of their first team out FWIW. Apparently some notable absentees.
"I'll be getting an update on this after the final whistle. Spoke very briefly with Phil Parkinson as he made his way into the club... Sounded like it has been a real effort to piece a squad together today."
(From Bolton News journo at the match).

Re: Bolton
Things going to the wire and they are back in the high court tomorrow,
- Anderson cannot put the club into admin because of the contractual agreement he has with Bassini
- Bassini has not got enough money since he found out about needing to have 2 years of funding up front (£14m) to get EFL and is desperately trying to get new money on board without admin
- Major creditors (particularly the Davis family) just want their money and shut of all connections with the club (they are also the only ones who can realistically put them in admin though that will cost them)
- There is still interest from others though they are squabbling amongst themselves but will only get involved if club goes into Admin
Deadline is approaching who will be the one to flick the switch - tick tock

Yeah, they've just been discussing this on 5live.
Didn't know they were back in court tomorrow.
Could they actually be served with a winding-up order tomorrow on the say-so of the court itself? Suspect they'll be given more time, as before.
Either way, it does indeed look like they're screwed.
HMRC won't wait forever.

Re: Bolton
So, now the likely scenario is Mike James with the Football Ventures set-up to take control probably after administration. James is the second largest creditor as it stands with a loan of £6.5m which was secured against the Club hotel. The likelihood is now that loan will not be repaid and turned into a slice of the club.
Fascinating day ahead tomorrow as they attempt to convince the Judge that finally they have serious intentions.

Re: Bolton
From Anderson, which means it is the Eddie Davies Trust who have placed them in administration which will be protection ahead of the court hearing.
Mr Bassini, regrettably his continued time wasting and empty promises have caused a great deal of heartache and frustration for the staff and supporters alike and now leave the Eddie Davies Trust and I with little or no choice other than for one of us to place the businesses into administration, as any likelihood of finding any resolution the High Court hearing not possible.

Re: Bolton
The court will not want to be responsible for killing a club the size of Bolton, the admin will likely have an agreed outcome for the major creditor(before entering). The party who have made that agreement will negotiate with HMRC (who are fronting the High Court action), others may join the fray with a base level set on exiting admin and in 6 weeks (minimum period of admin) we should know officially who the new owners of the club are.clansman wrote:The court still has to agree this if they don’t it’s liquidation
Following that the EFL need to decide the penalty for failing to fulfil a fixture (twice) a financial penalty is useless as is a full transfer embargo as they no longer have enough players. Lot's of talk about being a further 8 point deduction for fixtures and a soft transfer embargo (wage restricted) for up to 2 seasons. That increases the likelihood of relegation next season (Start at - 20 pts and have a much weaker team)

Just like they let Birmingham sign someone and then try to tell them off for breaking financial regulations...
