Anderson accepts offer for club. Period of due dilligence before announcement.
They’ll be partying down there.

He had to accept an offer to stave off the HMRC court case.

That should now be put on hold whilst the sale of the club is finalized.

Looks like it's some venture capitalists looking to buy the club, but can't see much football experience in there.

Can only hope they're as naive as Venkys were when they took over.

They've probably already seen too many false dawns to be getting too excited.

Who on earth would want to buy Bolton? Or any other club that is haemorrhaging money?

Many reasons... The belief that they can do better (no doubt a five-year plan to get into the Premiership) alternatively, to asset strip it then sell on the ground or in the belief that they can stabilise the club and sell on for a profit in the midterm.... being just three possible motives

Only the second option seems viable

To us, yes but there are plenty of financiers prepared to buy into the dream at least in the short term as we've seen many times, even here at Burnley we've had a few over the years.

Asset strip and sell the ground, lease it back and escape.

I've never been able to work that part out.

Even Sunderland managed to find a buyer and they were/are losing horrific amounts of money.

Getting worse now and it would appear the potential buyer for the club has cooled their interest.

Their fans, once they get over the heartache of the Club going bust, will have a great decade or so, watching the Phoenix Club come back up the Leagues.

Only at a football club would "no food" be reason to shut down operations. Can you imagine if every factory and office closed just because the microwave or the vending machine was on the blink?

I've never really thought about players paying for their food at their place of work.

Does anyone know if this is common in football in the top two/three leagues?

When I worked at LandRover, Solihull they sent the night shift home (around 1200 workers), with full pay, in one building because the grill in the canteen wouldn't work. Union deal says that hot food has to be available to the night shift.

Why didn't the management send out for hot food? Yeah, I know 1200 is a lot of takeaways, but it's not impossible when an half hour catchment area takes in the centre of Birmingham.

Maybe we shouldnt believe everything we read on twitter. Maybe it wasnt the owner but someone else at the club who closed the training ground in a dispute with the owner.
Maybe Bolton actually had a match at the training ground last night.
Maybe Bolton is a very political place at the moment.

Best deal in Lancashire get your hands on Burnley FC,
With serious investment a real prospect.
This is a serious post as our lack of serious investment in the team has really hampered our football progress.
After last seasons 7th finish I for one was expecting a top 10 finish not us down in another relegatipn scrap.

Be careful who we mock. Its not beyond the realms of possibility we play them again next season, or at least play at the level they are now at.

You left out the important part.

We won't be so financially crippled by debt that we can't even pay the food bills...
They had more than enough money over the years to be in a better state than they are now.
