AND electricity! To be fair at least we can get a mobile signal in Trawden. Get past Thorneyholme near Barley and your phone goes dead. The locals don't allow masts and suchlike.

The locals do allow masts and do have masts, the mobile operators don’t see them as cost effective to maintain. However, don’t let the facts get in the way of you being a ****.

It is busy all the time and is getting worse, regardless of the weather.
You are right though about the two pubs and the Cabin doing well out of it, although that is of no use to anyone else.
Sorry for the late reply. I was up pendle. No signal. Dunno whether it was the rural location or all the tourists hogging the network!

Of course you are, just don't park in a residents garden, don't threaten elderly people who can't park in their disabled space, don't let your dog **** where it wants, don't throw your coffee cups in the river and don't be a dick.

I'm setting off for Barley straight after tomorrows game. Park up near a drive or pinch point in the road get a few beers in the Pendle Inn get a taxi home then walk back Sunday morning to visit the sculpture trail and a picnic next to the river.

Must admit to not parking in the village as I know better than to do that, however I had a lovely couple of hours in the woods......

Never been to Barley, but it sounds lovely.

Will be oop north this coming weekend and will be bringing the family for a a walk round and a few pints. Looking forward to it.....I need a good regular Sunday venue as I'm going to be in Lancs every second weekend from now on.

presuming Barley caters for the disabled, as i'll be bringng the minibus and need to ensure nobody parks too close to my ramps.

Whilst I do understand the OPs frustrations, I don’t understand why he just doesn’t beam himself up when it gets a tad busy?

Like I said previously, Loyalclaret, most visitors aren’t a problem (we are all visitors somewhere at some point), just the prats.

Can confirm that Barley was pretty busy, this morning. I think it's something of a tradition to climb Hill Hill Hill of a Good Friday. Perfect weather for it, barely even a breeze at the top.
