Clarets face daunting task at St James
Some of the stats look tricky for this one.
1) Burnley haven't won at St James since 1976, in fact it was our last win in the top flight until Robbie's goal beat Man Utd.
2) The Mags have won their last three home games on the bounce conceding only one to free scoring Man city.
3) City won their seven other games in an 8 game sequence beating three of the top six, underlining Rafa's boys achievement.
4) They have only lost to Brighton ( 0 - 1 ) in the bottom eight, and only conceded one other goal to the rest
5) The last three goals they have scored against Burnley have all come from corners.
On the other hand, the Seagulls and the Chickens have had their necks wrung recently by the Mighty Clarets perhaps the boys can make it three birds in a row.
Any other glimmers?
OK Mark, your turn.

Dyche laughs in the face of stats.
How many Hoodoos has he broken during his time here? There’s hardly any left.

Momentum and confidence are such key factors.
Based on that our boys probably can't wait to get out on the pitch tomorrow night.
Big chance of a result, for me, irrespective of any stats.

Newcastle at 10/11 in the Coral shop with BFC 5/2. Not bad odds if you think the lads can do it.
I think two points at most v Newcastle and Palace but, to be fair, that would do nicely.

Do you think both managers would take a point now if offered?

To be fair, Newcastle also are on a decent run at home at the moment.
So, to answer the question, yes I think both managers would take a point if offered it.
To extend our unbeaten run to 9 games prior to the home game against Palace would be fantastic. Currently one of the form teams throughout Europe.

Re: Clarets face daunting task at St James
Newcastle looked very good against Huddersfield. I know it's only Udders but you can only beat what's in front of you. They passed it round nicely a lot of one touch football. We need to see how the new lad responds to a tackle from Bards.
I'm always happy with a point away from home, whoever we play and I'd be happy with 1 tomorrow

Re: Clarets face daunting task at St James
Newcastle are way better than their league position ( as are we ) but no reason to fear anybody right now. A point will do nicely ( for both teams). A win would be magnificent then roll Palace over on Saturday and it will be almost job done.UTC

Bet365 online has 11/10 Newc, 12/5 draw; 29/10 Clarets. Had a few bob on the away win just now.Newcastle at 10/11 in the Coral shop with BFC 5/2. Not bad odds if you think the lads can do it.

Re: Clarets face daunting task at St James
Living in the North East I'm hopeful of a Burnley win tonight especially after our performance against Spurs but I'd be happy with a point.
