As bad a midfield performance as I’ve seen from us at this level.

Heaton 6
Bardsley 5
Tarkowski 5
Mee 6
Taylor 8*
Gudmundsson 4
Cork 4
Hendrick 4
McNeil 4
Wood 5
Barnes 5

Brady 4

Crouch is pretty useless and is more of a tourist attraction than a footballer.

The good run was going to end at some time, a little disappointing in performance and some questions still remain in some areas.
Heaton 6- no chance with either goal, aware on numerous occasions to threat of Almiron getting behind.
Bardsley 5- stuck at it.
Mee 6- steady away.
Tarkowski 5- not his usual self too many long and hurried straight balls caught in possession and bad miss. One off performance
Taylor 7- mom defended well and only one possessing a genuine threat.
Cork 5- lost the midfield battle for once maybe Westwood a big miss.
Hendrick 5- improved displays of late on right really good, soon as he is put in centre position not up to scratch. Ball constantly going over your head doesn't help though.
Gudmondson 5- couple of deliveries quite good, should have been stronger with first half chance
O'Neil 5- not his night , but he will have many good ones in future.
Barnes 6- worked manfully but service very poor,
Woods 6- as Barnes
Brady 5- corners at times are very poor, needs game time though to get back in the groove.

Heaton 6 Did little wrong other than punching one he could have caught.
Bardsley 6 worked hard but not much in way of support inside him or in front of him
Tarks 3 Woeful. Slow pondering performance and as has happened on occasion before seemed more interested in starting a fight than playing football
Mee 5 Let down badly by his partner but couldn't deal with the power of Rondon or the pace of Almeron
Taylor 9 fantastic performance. Solid at the back and our best player going forwards. The only player that turned up.
Gudmundsson 4 poor passing, poor crossing and not sure he beat a man all night.
Cork 3 invisible.
Hendrick 5 worked hard but ineffective and has looked much better on the right.
McNeil 4 Looked tired and never really got into the game.
Wood 5 No supply and no support for most of the night. Had our best effort and tried to create by hitting the channels, but the ball usually ended up way off
Barnes 4 Again no supply or support. Ref not on his side last night so instead of winning free kicks he just gave the ball away.

Brady 5 put some crosses in which caused some panic but just doesn't seem to do enough from open play.
Crouch 4 If the ball isn't perfectly on his head then he may as well not be there.
Vydra 5 inches away from stabbing home but offered little else, but never likely to when the ball is 8ft in the air most of the time.

Heaton 7 (As mentioned above, a weird decision to punch an easy catch and at the time, at the ground, I thought he should have done better on the first goal. Having said that an excellent 1v1 save late on)
Bardsley 5
Tarks 7 (-1 for missing our only chance which MIGHT have made a difference)
Mee 8
Taylor 8 (MOM. was the one bright spot)
Cork 4 (dithered and cost us the second goal)
Hendrick 6
JBG 5
McNeil 5
Barnes 5
Wood 4

Brady 4
Crouch 4
Vydra 3

Very, very poor showing and I never thought we'd miss Westwood so much. We were absolutely useless and simply couldn't keep the ball, especially in midfield. I can only assume they all ate whatever made Westwwod ill, except for Taylor who was actually very good and never stopped trying to make stuff happen. I was actually on the very back row of what is apparently the highest stand in the entire universe which meant that from that distance the first goal looked awful from England's number 1, but I need to see it again. On the plus side you get a great view over the city when the footy is crap!
