Tarkowski
As good as he can be I don't like the arrogance he sometimes exhibits, smirking and laughing at things that are not funny and being disrespectful to opponents. I wish he would cut it out.

You say potaytow and I say potartoe. It’s professional sport, anything to get an advantage.

Thanks I'll tell him tomorrow
Re: Tarkowski
So many holes I can pick in this post I’m not even going to bother trying.
I’ll give you a hint though: Sergio Ramos.

For me he seems to play some games with much less focus such as after when he last played for England. On a personal level however I bumped into him in a petrol station and he seemed perfectly alright to talk to and not arrogant at all.

Did you exchange details, insurance etc after the bump?Blackrod wrote:For me he seems to play some games with much less focus such as after when he last played for England. I would have been livid if you bumped into me

I know what you mean. I often think the same thing. If you're good enough you don't need it.basil6345789 wrote:As good as he can be I don't like the arrogance he sometimes exhibits, smirking and laughing at things that are not funny and being disrespectful to opponents. I wish he would cut it out.
Think Beckanbaur, Moore

I don't think it's a smirk tbh ;the wind just catches his ears and stretches his face.

Re: Tarkowski
You can’t be suggesting that Beckenbaur and Moore didn’t have swagger and we’re not arrogant? There isn’t enough tv coverage of either to claim this, unless of course you watched them extensively week in week out?Espia wrote:I know what you mean. I often think the same thing. Tarks is an arrogant CB I’m all for it, whatever tools he uses to unsettle his opponent can only be a good thing for him and the rest of the team. It’s not always him laughing and joking, it’s him being over physical, or chatting in someone’s ear, or just not bothering to engage in chat to unerve them. It’s his tactic, it’s most footballers tactics to dominate the situation.
He will get it wrong once or twice and get wound up himself and suffer accordingly, but he’s an absolute class CB and let’s enjoy him before someone bigger comes and snaffles him.

Re: Tarkowski
Would rather have a top quality player with an arrogant edge then a championship quality nice guy with impeccable manners on the pitch.
Players have certain personas on the pitch. Look at Barnes... if I was a referee I’d probably want to punch the guy at times. However he is really effective for us so who cares if he constantly niggles defenders, buys fouls, and is at times petulant.
Weird that after a defeat people will find a variety of reasons to start a negative post.

Re: Tarkowski
I like it when ever he is interviewed although he doesn’t look nervous he raises his right hand and scratches the back/side of his head before he answers each question or comment.
Anyone else notice that?

Re: Tarkowski
I think you should write to the club and ask them to pass the message on for you. Or maybe wait after the game on Saturday and have a word with him about his arrogance.basil6345789 wrote:As good as he can be I don't like the arrogance he sometimes exhibits, smirking and laughing at things that are not funny and being disrespectful to opponents. Re: Tarkowski
I’m not sure he comes across as arrogant.
He gets himself involved with a few things he shouldn’t now and again but I’m not sure that’s the same thing.
