I do hope nobody bumps the threads up from the time he was appointed and we had the usuals telling us how appointing Ranieri had guaranteed them safety. Ignoring the threads from the summer spending spree which too made them safe.

If they can beat Cardiff and Newcastle at home that would do me. Be fun if they took points from their home games against Chlesea Liverpool City and Everton.

Not suggesting they win the bloody games, just 6 points from Cardiff and N/C and the odd draw from the other 4

Have to agree with this. I was concerned when Ranieri took over because his record in this country was obviously very good and I thought Fulham had a decent squad of players. My son disagreed with me and I suppose I'll have to eat plenty of the proverbial humble pie now. I'm not into statistics but I was just wondering if Fulham are one of those sides that have lost.points from winning positions. It certainly applies to recent games v us and West Ham but were these just exceptions?

The club must obviously be in turmoil if they only allowed Ranieri 106 days in charge. That is pure folly.

He is a good manager but not a miracle worker.

The owners hopefully will get everything they deserve - relegation

They spent a lot of money and gave the team that got them up, the boot.

Didn't the team that got promoted have a lot of loans that returned to their own clubs at the end last season?

Fulham = the exact model for no team to follow ever. If they trusted the man, who got them up to the PL, with over £100m to spend on players then stick with him. Give the chance to some of the players who got you up? They have sacked (and paid off!) 2 managers now and will still be relegated. What a joke of a club, they deserve nothing. Be patient and see where it takes you; I've heard, at certain clubs, this can work out pretty well.

Yes, it's remarkable how quickly the good feeling for them (little old club/playing good stuff to get out of the Championship etc) turned around when they went down the route of replacing a big chunk of the team that achieved that with some big-money buys.

I happened to be on a train (for a small part of the way) between Southampton & London last night c 23.00 and it seemed like the Fulham fans on there didnt have much sympathy for the club either.

He'd done a shocking job there to be fair, they were at least renowned for playing good stuff and being sh1t defensively, but Ranieri turned them into a team who played sh1t football and were still sh1t defensively.

Matt Targett and Mitrovic were on loan at Fulham last season silky, the spine of the team was Ream, Sessegnon, Cairney, McDonald et al.

Ranieri not just to blame - the rot has started with previous manager and their approach this season.
They brought in a lot of new signings and dropped a few of the players that got them promoted.
The previous manager did not play the same defence or system 2 games in a row.

Ranieri has not had improved them defensively at all. I don’t like the club much but I think they have played some decent stuff this year going forward and do seem to make a lot of chances - but you cannot concede like they do and win enough games.

Aye, I've just gone 69 yo and I'd only just learned to walk when they last won at TM.

I'll be 67 in April and I don't think they've won at Turf Moor in my lifetime. Stand to be corrected on that though.

I have just realised that their last win at the Turf was just 4 months before I watched my first game as a 5 year old in 1952!!
They are going down and I definitely don't want to play them next season, in spite of their record at the Turf!!

Even the bad days of Waddle and the Stan years when Keegan / Tigana managed Fulham we always beat them at the Turf, usually against the odds.

I am always bemused these days when the "experts" say certain new managers, usually at big clubs, need two years, or so many transfer windows, to get the team right to challenge for the title.
He now has a record that will surely never be beaten.
Wins the league first season with virtually the players he inherited and is fired twice within 35? games.
Not only that Leicester have seemed to lurch from crisis to crisis ever since.

But if SD were to leave Burnley would I want him to take over? Not a chance!
