POLITICS—Chris Grayling

Post by Tricky Trevor » Fri Mar 01, 2019 2:17 pm

What secret does this numpty have on May that enables him to keep his job? Or is it just the fear of more disruption during her negotiations.
Roads..potholes, jams, dodgy signage leading to dodgier fines.
Rail.. Northern Fail and a less than useless service nationwide.
Air.. Drones shutting down airports.
Ferries.. NotSeabourne freight. It is difficult to get sea bourne without a ferry.
Eurotunnel. Pocketing £33m after the secretive Seabourne deal

Grayling, again, but twice this time. How can this throughly incompetent jerk still be in the government?

Graylings disastrous probation sell off will cost taxpayer extra 467m

...........................................................................................

Chris Grayling faced calls to quit today after agreeing to pay up to £33 million to Eurotunnel in a legal bust-up over extra ferry services if Britain crashes out of the EU.

Should be sent to jail for crimes against the country.

I'm sure he would serve at least a week of a 5yr stretch.

Mind you, there's one thing he's done that others haven't. Chris Grayling is the only politician who has united Leave/Remain, left, right and centre. United in the sense that nearly everyone thinks he's a complete dick.

Was just going to say, has there ever been a more incompetent Minister (of any political persuasion) in the last 50 years?

I can't think of anyone else who comes close. He is a walking disaster.

If he wasn't earning £141k a year and squandering huge sums of public money it'd be funny

Don't forget him knocking someone off their bike in his ministerial limo. That should have been an indicator on what was to come.

£800,000 on the fees for consultants to look into Seaborne wasted too. Remember Boris' Garden Bridge? How much did that cost before it was scrapped £40 million or so? The money wasted is criminal and yet they will never be held to account, in fact in a few years they will be knighted and in the House of Lords.

He's not going anywhere, is he. He's sticking his head in the sand while hoping it quickly blows over. It will be the same the next time and we all know that there will indeed be another costly and incompetent 'next time'. It's like giving Michael Crawford's Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em character a govt department to run.

He'd be impressed by Fulham's profligacy that's for sure, one mistake is forgivable but not seven.

https://news.sky.com/story/off-the-rail ... g-11651998

Is it any wonder he's called failing Grayling.

Of course the money the PL clubs squander isn't public money, well apart from West Ham and Tottenham,he makes Mr Bean look competent, and yet despite all these mistakes he has somehow remained in the government for 8 years, either the HOC really is lacking in talent,or he knows where the bodies are buried.

It's not often i agree with a Labour MP,but Andy McDonald is spot on "This country cannot afford Chris Grayling".

Grayling has made the news in the U.S.

How Does He Survive? The Curious Case of ‘Failing Grayling’

Mr. Grayling’s various misadventures — 12 in all — had cost British taxpayers 2.7 billion pounds, or $3.6 billion.

Shared a platform with Nigel Farage and a big Leaver in the European debate. Depending on your viewpoint adds or detracts from the quality of politicians on either side of the divide.

Don’t forget his restructuring of Probation Services to include the private sector has cost us millions as the providers have been sacked for incompetence and given a compensation package!! This idiot was Education Secretary for a while...need I say more?

Mark Steel tweeted about Grayling ‘his expression always seems to say you may be questioning why I just cost the country 40 million with a cock up but I just cost us £60 million with a different cock up that hasn’t come out yet!’

Just sums up another incompetent buffoon creaming it in with no one ever really doing anything about how bad he is at his job.

Possibly don't vote Tory in the next election, or more specifically don't vote for him in his constituency. Problem is, he'd get a number of jobs on the board of some big companies, hopefully he'll get hit by a non existent ferry or train and disappear.

I met him once, had to give a presentation to try and explain to him what we were doing. At the time I couldn’t work out whether the empty look in his eyes was him being bored or not having a clue what I was talking about. Years later, having sort of followed his career in government, I’m fairly sure it’s the latter.

He'll get re-elected at the next election,he has a majority over 20,000,in a leafy Surrey seat,so he's not going anywhere soon, this is the big problem of FPTP,it's virtually impossible to remove incompetent MP'S.

He shouldn't be in a cabinet role though, shows how poor our current parliamentarians are.

There were a few people on here who expressed fear at the idea of Dianne Abbott being Home Secretary, because she fudged numbers a few times in interviews; so it would be interesting to see their reaction to a man with such a track record of failure being made chairperson of such an important committee.

Do you seriously think people feared Abbot as Home Secretary because she can’t add up ?? Her blatant racism, hatred of the police ,hatred of England and all it stands for not to mention her politics were somewhat more relevant . Though Grayling is indeed a bellend .
And Andrew ,with respect the correct nomenclature is “ Chair “

It never stops. Already today two Tory MPs have been made to look idiots.

Caroline Dineage on BBC Breakfast with absolutely no clue when asked about the safety and scientific advice she has received to support her decision to re open indoor swimming pools and gyms

Then you have Mark Francois who after threatening an army general that Dominic Cummings will come and sort him out has received a humiliating response to the posturing letter he sent to Barnier on behalf of the ERG. Barnier succinctly highlighted that the very things he was criticising the EU for were the very things he and his govt voted for and agreed to as part of the political declaration.

Failed in every ministerial post he had held.

He very nearly brought the criminal justice system to its knees, before he was sacked and Michael Gove stepped in to undo most of the damage.

Which bit is brainwashed FB?

1.That Grayling is a bellend ?
2. That Andrew needed a little spelling police /pedantary on his use of “ chair person “?
3. That the electorate “feared” Diane Abbot as Home Sec ?
Due to her.. take your pick - allegiance to JC , her racism ,
her far left politics , her obsession with race ,the list is endless .
You may worship the ground she walks on ( not you personally ) but the reasons for many many despising her politics are there for all to see.

Not looking for an argument but I really don’t see how “ brainwashing “ enters into it .

The only positive with Grayling is he's so incompetent if he gets told to bury the Russia report it will probably be in the public domain within a few hours.

What is wrong with using chairperson?

Well it’s not “wrong” per se ,but it’s being used in context where a “ chairman “ was the position . “Chair” is the commonly used term for a female chair though “ chairwoman” is occasionally used .

Where I’ve little doubt “ chairperson “ and it’s giddy left wing gender neutral credentials is gleefully used in university campuses left wing debating societies and other right on organizations ,in both the public and private sector “chair “ is the universally accepted term.

"" her hatred of England and all it stands for""

To me that's OTT and sounds like something some brainless berk might drink in from a tatty right wing red top.
I don't want her ruling the country any more than you do, but I recognise ******** when I see it.
Not a totally unreasonable point, though with the exception of John McDonnell she’s the person I’d least trust as HS. Though fair play to her for having a can on the train ,that probs gave her a smidgeon of reluctant street cred from many unlikely quarters .
